hey RUSTY, weren't you the one looking for an Eliminator?

I'm sure you saw this, but for those who didn't:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...Track=true&ssPageName=VIP:Watchlink:middle:us

Yes, I saw it and it's on my watch list. Friggin' timing sucks.

although I'm not an Eliminator fan, if it was white, I would have bought it already since my cash flow and Gas are equal again this month.. Good luck to anyone here that is gonna buy it, cause 250 including shipping is a good deal ( TRC gone? has the trussrod been cranked to the point of failure? who knows ) but for the price either way...yep, good deal.

I did like the white one better but the red looks pretty good too. I wish it would have popped up about three days earlier though....Last week and over the weekend I bought several hundred dollars worth of pickups (Nordy's, SDs, some Fenders and a set of EMGs), three sets of Fender/Schaller tuners, four neckplates, three pickguards, sixteen pots, sixteen tele/P bass knobs, three Gotoh bridges, two necks and yet another Fender body.

Pretty much wiped out last week's and this week's play money. And I'm STILL waiting on my tax refund check. If it shows up before that Eliminator disappears, it's mine. For $250 it's hard to pass up, but I'd probably ask RedsFan75 for a pic of his wiring and return it to stock and then do something with the switch. Either that or I could con him into meeting me in Lexington one weekend for a tour of the shops, with lunch on me!

:)

Oh yeah, and a P/J set of Fat Tone pickups too. Forgot about those. Our local shop is a dealer for them but has no experience with the bass p'ups. Reviews of them that I've seen, which are few and far between and deal mostly with the guitar pickups, seem more concerned with where they are actually produced than with how they sound or the quality of them.

Anyone ever tried them?

Ok, OK, In my defense the guy I got it from kept calling it a Fusion IV, thereby leading to my con-FUSION! :D Give this old Fender guy a break. :hiding:

I've now tried to ELIMINATE that from my vocab.. lol Actually I like the Eliminator name much better.

And Rusty, no con needed, I'd be glad to meet you in the Lex no lunch treat needed, I stopped by Willcuts Thursday to drool over a few of theirs. I played a Breedlove Acoustic that was amazing!

There are one of these in red sitting at a local obscure pawn shop...the gentmen that owns the place wants a very small amount of money for it.....the kicker is it has a really nice aluminum flight case with it that is an amazing 49" inches long....I have a bass that is 48 1/4" from point to point....i tried to just buy the casee off of him but he won't seperate them.....anybody need one of these...so i can keep the case?...lol

It was 250 earlier today, but I just looked and the buy it now is 225!

Rub it in, why dontcha?

:D

I don't know why my tax refund is taking so long. I called them last week and was told it was being processed and I'd have it by the 26th. I probably should have held off on some of the project bass parts but have to admit I'm glad I'll be able to finish a few of these now. I should be able to complete a MIA Deluxe P this weekend and probably my Sage Green Jazz too. The Deluxe P isn't meant to be a keeper (at least right now, unplayed) so I might unload it next week.

Slightly off here, but was watching my Pantera home videos DVD the other day, and does anyone know what model 5 string Rex was playing in the early days?

His black 4 string Charvel has to be a B3 or B4 I'd think, but I dunno what the white 5 string Jackson was.
do you have a screen shot at all RSB?

even the wikipedia says Charvel and Jackson, but don't tell you which ones.
I would assume a NT would be a C/S or 3B ( not B3 ):D , and a bolton would be a 2b if passive. I just need to see a pic to say what they are.

5 strings? again, either a C/S (customshop) or perhaps a concert5 or one of the custom concerts....

Lol, I even HAVE a 3B and I never get the name right... :scowl:

Maybe his 4 was even a custom job too, as it's the actual "Charvel" cursive logo, whereas like mine, it's the smaller "Charvel/Jackson" one.

I'll see if I can find some linkies. I DEFINITELY can hear the similarities though when I detune a step or so and cop some Rex lines. It sounds darned near exact!

RSB, the newer toothpaste charvel logo was introduced to "match" the jackson one and it was put on there in the 90's. the 80's version was the small one....

did I ever see your 3b? is it that blue one floating around the threads here?

I always tune all mine for DGCF, and use 45-110 strings, and it works for me :)

it has been a long time since I tuned EADG, as I don't care about tuning, if the song is in E standard, I just transpose fret positions as the guitarplayers shouldn't be looking at me for "what fret is he playing now" crap.
