Actually Jaco was a lot more specific than Fender Jazz bass. His preference was for Aug '61 to Aug '62 Fender Jazz bass!

Jaco only needed 4 strings
Jaco played tons of basses, whatever was around. He was more into playing than gear from what I can see.
I read that this was a EADGC, but I'm not sure if that is correct.
