Jad Freer Sisma Mega Thread.

My "quoted" comment was addressed @gtirard and is just a part of our conversation and he understood it correctly. If my wording was unclear or misleading to you, you could have asked for clarification.
"For the record" is not the way to start a conversation, it's just vanity.
P.S.
Sisma is class G. For clarification.....since you haven't mentioned it.
In my country "just for the record" simply means for the historical record and is a way of signifying/clarifying a point. Nothing more.

Not sure what your beef is (American term, although it may be a more universal thing, I don't really know). o_O

Talkbass is waaaay more then one country, and for huge number of people here English is not a native language, including me.
I have no "beef" whatsoever.
You started by "correcting" my "quote" and I answered that my "quote" is not claiming that Sisma is class D.
You than, again answered without asking what did I mean, but went with, something.... .............internet lore. Not sure, at all, what that meant. But for sure I didn't sound as you being interested in clarifying what I wrote and why you misunderstood it.

One of the reason why I love Talkbass is because it's usually a very peaceful place to discuss, there's a lot of mutual respect, usually. Cool down my friends, we're only talking about music gear, no reason to create tension.

The language barrier can cause a lot of misunderstandings, but after all, we're all bass players, perhaps a little too passionate sometimes :).

Your'e mostly right. Only ....... I don't believe that language is causing a problem, attitude, assumption and tone of conversation ussualy does.

So what are the measurements or equipment used to test if one topology pushes more "air" than another?

:)
There's an "absurdity measurement unit", a theory that sounds better then reality ;)

So is he really talking about the damping difference between SS and tubes, in the very first part?

@agedhorse?

It has been discussed already page 7 of this thread - that's 19 pages ago, I don't see the point going back in time like this. And it's related to tube amps, nothing to do with Sisma, which is an hybrid amp.

I suggest we return to the main topic of this thread, Sisma, and if you want to re-open the discussion with Franz975, I suggest you create a new thread.

So appreciate you trying to keep the thread on point but my comment is still valid as we are still talking about different topologies.

The Sisma is touting one kind. One of the things that can make an amp sound different than another is damping. Plus I wasn't directing my comments just to Franz975

Now as far as how far back my comment was addressing a past post in this thread. You mean someone coming along to the thread for the first time is not allowed to comment on what has been posted before?
That IMHO is goofy. I have never seen a thread here policed like that.

:)

Then, we'd all have to rely solely on (different) basses to create the sounds in our heads. :wideyed:

Well, that make sense given the power levels are tied in with THD specs.
Yep, the bass, fingers, and individual technique. At least that's what I was doing since early 80's.
For most part of two decades my backline requirement was.....very good DI box and two JBL stage monitors. Everything else was just my bass.....with some help from me.

Sounds like words of a controlling dictator. Control the speech, control the people.

I like warranties, safety and compliance certifications, and solid service, parts, and distribution channels. Does Jad Freer Sisma have any of these in the US?

So, no bench testing yet, but I have spent some time playing the Sisma 110/210 rig with both of my bands in a practice setting.

First up was the "acoustic" band, and I play upright and acoustic bass guitar in this one, so we don't carry a ton of volume, but feedback is often an issue with this band. I am happy to say that the Jad Freer rig did prove to be nicely resistant to feedback with this band. According to JF, the ports on the Venere cabs were specifically calculated to minimize feedback, and it seems they may have gotten that quite right!

Moving on to my rock/alternative band, which plays much louder, the Jad Freer rig had zero difficulties keeping up, volume-wise, and sounded great. I had lots more gain on tap, and it was very full and very clear. The Venere line is their "hi-fi" line of cabs, and it's aimed at being very accurate and balanced, with little to no built-in voicing. That sounded perfect for my acoustic band, but I was a little concerned that it would be too polite for my rock band. This turned out to be no concern at all. Man, it sounded great!

I still need to get this rig on stage at a proper gig, but so far, this seems like a "do it all" rig, at least for my needs. :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:
Hi,
If you had to compare Sisma with some similar and familiar head, what would that be?

Take it easy, do as you wish, I was only making a suggestion.
I had the feeling that it was off topic, but maybe I didn't understand what's the relation with Sisma.
Please excuse me.

I can vouch for the solid service.
Haven’t really ever worried about safety and compliance certifications. Would miss out on a lot of good gear if I did.

Not worried about class D vs G. The Sisma is an awesome sounding amp. If I ever decide to go with a micro head, that’ll be the one.
