while i agree just turning the active mode off is the easiest solution you still have really long wires going all over the place in the cavities.

Why is this an issue in a shielded environment?

Adding a Blend to a Jag isn't that tough, but you'll either have to use stack pot for the vol/tone or lose the tone. Heres a pic of my Jag with stack pot for the vol/tone + blend and a front shot for the heck of it.

I have thought of going stacked volumes, and tone, myself.

I love the passive sound of the Jaguar I have, and pretty much just run it that way.

Now that you have added a blend, does it make the pickup switches null and void, or do you just leave them both on and use the blend to determine which is favored?

I think the Jaguar's "problems" are wildly exaggerated in the first place.

This. I believe a lot of people who complain about this bass just don't have a lot of experience with +12dB (or what ever it is) of bass and treble.
