Janky-A Rigs of Doom

My bandmates and I have decided to rent a cheap warehouse to use as practice space, and I was looking for small & loud combo that I wouldn't have to leave there (poor security + likely vermin infestation.) Instead, I found a perfect roach motel in the form of a Peavey TNT with trashed cosmetics and a Black Widow that's been partially eaten by silverfish. I can leave this thing in the warehouse and not worry about it, and I got it for $30.

I was going to stick an old Carvin 15 that I'm not using in it, but I decided to try my hand at patching the speaker cone (which was barely attached to the basket anyway,) and I think I might have pulled it off! Made some patches from a pendaflex folder and doped the entire cone. Now that the glue has dried, I've put about an hour on the speaker and it sounds surprisingly good for a crusty old wreck!

It actually looks much worse in person, possibly enough to be theft-proof and unappetizing to termites.

It still rocks like nobody's business, but it changed hands over the weekend. I bestowed it upon a bandmate because we're moving out of the termite nest/warehouse, and I felt it was too magnificent to spend the forseeable future in my garage. Plus, it smells awful.

Your janks got stank!

I posted this in the "Show your studio" thread, but I was rightly called out for having a Janky A$$ Rig of Doom.

Earth Sounds Research (700W) into a Peavy cab - one of the drivers is a Gauss 1500W. Don't know what the other is.

The PA is a Peavy CS-800 with a decrepit Bullfrog 15".

I've also got an old TOA PA head that has seen action in the last month.

The dorm-sized fridge in the corner has plenty of cold beer in it if you ever want to hear how it sounds...

Bravo!!!! My kinda place!

Guess this one belongs in here.
This gets brought to gigs where FOH is provided but I either KNOW the FOH operator runs mains with no bass or has wooden ears. It's easy to verify with a wireless unit on. Budget items include Seismic Audio 18, Seismic Audio 4x8, and Bugera monster bi-amped head(you know the name) bought one night when Amazon had it for barely over $200 with free shipping. Top it off with a very inexpensive, former wall-hanger that is audience eye-candy and sounds great(got lucky) Galveston.

Sweet!!!

Latest Rig of Doom...... Demeter HPB1 preamp, Crown XLS1500 Power, Schroeder 12-12 Light - dual 12's (one in a corner fold design), Schroeder 12PL - single 12, and an Epifani 3-10 UL three 10s (loaded with the new dual voice coil speakers). Killer response, and still easy to haul.
