Ta-da! Rat case/cab stand loaded with jank gear.

Still need to add rear corner attachment points inside for the power amp. And while I'm doing that, looks like I'll have to pop the lid on that Crown, because it looks like in carrying it around I inadvertently pushed the channel indicator LEDs back out of their holes, into the case.

The finish is still tacky. Maybe some Cheetos and Funyuns dust is the next cosmetic step.

YEAH underside detail! I made a bunch of those out of plywood and covered them with blue jean materials I got from Joanns fabrics on sale. They ended up being kind of non janky though.

Years ago found a Peavey 8x10 cab and old big head (do not remember now) that was fully wrapped in purple fur in a pawnshop. This thing was like Treasure Troll hair fur. Wish I had a camera to take a picture, this was before phone cameras.

I submit for your consideration a truly janky Peavey cabinet that I didn't know I wanted and certainly do not need.
It's a Peavey 15SC, only manufactured from 1986 to 1987. According to Aged Horse its, "Was a very short lived box from the 1980's, big, heavy, moderately efficient but there were so many better products on the market (including other Peavey products). Direct radiating with a horn loaded port (kind of) using cosmetics of the SP-1 and FH-1, but with the driver direct radiating for vastly better mids (better for a bass cabinet) which sacrificed efficiency which the horn loaded port (or scoop) tried to help. This type of cabinet fell out of favor by the mid 1990's".

Craigslist Free Peavey Find: What The Heck?

It was a Craigslist free ad and I was bored and curious so drove an hour in the rain to find it sitting under the eaves of some squat little shed next to a lake. The area was covered in what appeared to be bat droppings which included covering the top of the cab. The first push of the cabinet revealed that there was a fair amount of water inside the cab and tilting the scooped cab made obvious that said liquid was pretty foul smelling, like urine.
At this point I of course needed to pause and reconsider the whole proposal, should I load a wet smelly cabinet that I didn't need or want all that much into my clean car? At this point my wife who wanted to get out of the house and who came along for the ride and who is generally sensible expressed her horror and displeasure that I would consider putting it in the car.
Tipping the cabinet in every direction did dump a quart to a half gallon of noxious liquid out but it was impossible to really empty it out.
We'll skip any further details of discussions or the hour long drive home but here's some pictures of what truly must be one of the jankiest janky rigs possible. It's been cleaned up dried out, decontaminated to the best of my ability and the car boom box driver replaced with an appropriate Black Widow driver.
It sounds pretty good but is tremendously heavy.

Well, I suppose somebody has to follow up that masterpiece.

Behold the short-lived Peavey-Schroeder-Peavey, very briefly the successor to the somewhat-less-short-lived Gallien-Krueger-Schroeder (now sold, to separate people):

This came about as an experiment which ultimately concluded that, yes, this Mark IV gets loud enough at 2ohm/325w/(at least)2x15. The experiment also revealed that the Schroeder cab was way too good for my purposes, so I intend to score a second Peavey 1x15 to complete an only-moderately-janky rig. I feel torn between a matched set with rat fur, a matched set with the aluminum strips (more period-correct with regard to the head), or a fairly-janky mixed setup. Suggestions welcome.

That and the MBss Peavey/Schroeder/Peavey make for a couple of worthy new additions.

Pauly's cab sounds like it could possibly qualify as Choadhammer II.

Actually it doesn't look half bad. That's the beauty of jank. When you get past the dirt, neglect, age and, yes, possible animal fecal matter, it sounds pretty good.

Looks somewhat "respectable" now. Kind of vintage, relic, cool.

Here is my janky rig of doom! It's a Bag End S15 under a cab converted out of a defective Rumble 500 combo (I got the combo for free and wired in a speaker jack). Next is my Fender Rumble 500 head... the head has to sit on its soft case because the handle on the combo is too bulky for the head to sit flush.
