Update * and more build porn photos.

Jerzy told me he is using his new bridge design on this bass.
It is angled slightly to give more room to the B, and E string for intonation.
So the bridge is shaped as a parallelogram as opposed to a rectangular shape.
The veneer for the back of headstock still needs to be glued on. Then some more sanding.
I should get some more photos before the next stage. Enjoy. :D

NICE! And WAY COOL! Man, Jerzy does such beautiful work. :)

I'm looking forward to replacing the gold hardware on mine with black hopefully pretty soon.

this is 100% normal. All of my custom made basses have done it, my MTD, my students' MTD's, and several of my students Ibanez' have as well. On my fretless MTD, the fretlines started coming up, and I waged a sanding battle for about two years as the wood shrunk. There is NO problem with this.

Part of the business of ownership. My $10k Fodera had it, too.

The only bass that I've had that never had the issue over the course of ownership was my Zon, because the neck doesn't shrink.

And the frets shouldn't need to be recrowned- just the ends that are sticking out knocked down. Recrowning is a lot more intensive and expensive, and has nothing to do with neck shrinkage. I think I've never paid more than about $40 to have tang ends knocked down.

I was just about to post the same thing. :)

I've had a couple basses do this on me, but not many, and yeah, it was cheap/easy to have it done, and any qualified tech should be able to do it quickly and for far less than $100 IMHO.

By the way, that Jerzy is making me seriously reconsider my "no basses for a long time" rule. It's striking in it's simplicity. I've been dying for one for years- especially the 36 position model. I can't wait to see it finished, schlyder!

So here is the latest update.... I got word a couple weeks ago, that when Jerzy sprayed the clear finish it reacted with something from the bleaching of the body wood and headstock veneers. So he is having to sand the finish off and redo.

These photos are of the body and headstock before he sands them again. The neck is finish is good.

So I am still waiting, but it is getting closer to being in my hands. Two steps forward and one step back.
