Jerzy Drozd Excellency VI custom *build journal

wow that is very nice, But 5 years, and he isn't returning emails. ***? I hope you get that straightened out. I don't know what I'd do in that position. I hope it all works out in the end for you.
I think I timed my project right. I know in the past, there has been some long wait times to have a Jerzy Drozd bass made. A two year wait list at one time IIRC.
I remember a couple years ago, on his website, I saw that he wasn't accepting orders for a year. I am glad it's only another 8 months. hahahahaha

Just talked with Jerzy... He has another piece of that flamed walnut for a back... and it's from the exact same piece as the back of the Legend bass pictured in the first post. :P
And because of the difficulty finding a piece long enough, we may have to go with flamed maple, stained to match the walnut, for the middle laminate in the neck.
But the flamed walnut back wood is set aside now.
Now to find the top wood.

Im also waiting on a custom build.... Its not a Jerzy, and its been ove 5 years since ive placed an order and paid for it in advance, and the luthier is not answering ANY of my emails anymore, and the bass is just about done.... I should have just gone with Jerzy!! :bawl:

Tragic thought, but is it possible that the luthier passed away? Have you checked the obituaries?

First post has all the woods selected, I haven't recieved any photos of top wood pieces to choose from yet, but I would assume they will arrive sometime soon.
The back wood is from the same piece of flamed walnut, that is the back of the bass, in a photo in the first post.

Sorry I just noticed the photo isn't there of the back. I will repost some photos.
I'm dying for some wood/build prOn too. He's teasing me. But, we have to be patient... and hope.
He's gotta be one busy guy, and to assume he's documenting much will be hoping for a lot. But he has seen the thread. ;) So maybe we will get some build shots.
He told me that we are at the point of no return for making any changes, so sawdust may have started to fly and glue may have hit neckwoods.

So here is the front and back again in photoshop to get an idea.
And the front wood and back wood reference photos.
