I've followed this thread from the beginning and found it most interesting; and I certainly hope this amp sees the commercially available light of day.

But, I have to say that if some of you are saying the Demeter preamp circuit is a pig... Then you've lost me.

I don't think anybody is quite calling it a pig. The Demeter amp itself has a great sound with a very nice and clean preamp, but having a great sounding preamp and tweakable/flexible preamp are often different things.

Great vid JGR. Would you post one that uses an overdrive in front please? Something short and quick will do fine.

Sure, I'll try at some point. I was blasting my Bass Big Muff through it a while back and it worked great. There's a lot of headroom so you can really slam it, or run a clean type boost which works really well too for more subtle stuff. So no worries there. No strange artifacts of feedback, it responds very nicely and as a good high voltage tube design should, smooths out the edges quite nicely.

As t&f said, I think there is probably just the right amount of grind on tap for most folks, with a huge range of clean headroom for that crowd as well.

Clearly the intention is for this product to become available for sale - excellent, good luck building your business. But of course, that would mean this thread from now on in counts as free advertising. I don't think it should be deleted as it does contain useful input from a number of contributors, but at this point it's a thread about the product of a commercial user and therefore needs to be closed.
