No. No no no. Bring back the Caprice!
Joe Dart basically wants to play a Jazz bass, but wants the QC of an Ernie Ball bass. Honestly, he would sound badass on a Caprice!
"I don't know who Joe Dart is!"
Your last gold record was when....? Less people know who you are. Let that circle the mental drain for a while.
"It's a jazz bass"
Gold star! What an astonishing observation!
Damn. Redundancy, people. Keep it in check.
The thread title asked if there were ANY thoughts. "I don't know who that guy is" and "it's a jazz bass" are both perfectly valid thoughts and fit the topic of the thread.
If the title had said "The Joe Dart II Is Here - Any thoughts from artists who have worked on an album that is certified gold by the RIAA?" then I probably would not have posted.![]()
Excellent - this also appeared today - Cory Wong being very funky (on a Stingray)
Meh.Just got a magical notification in my inbox that it's here --
Joe Dart II | Basses | Ernie Ball Music Man
Thoughts?
I can't afford it anyway, but it's sure purdy.
I don’t think they expect to sell a lot of these, and that is another reason the price is so high. I also think EBMM is just running into the limits of pricing a very high quality production bass with well paid labor in the USA.
Jaco’s bass looks a lot like the Jaco basses.Nothing against Joe Dart, or with MM, but this 'signature' thing is a little dubious to me.
It's not exactly the bass he played whilst becoming renowned for his playing. Even the first MM Joe Dart was one made to emulate something the Vulfpeck family used in some recordings that was cobbled together out of parts.
A Joe Dart Fender MiM Jazz bass would be a smash, and make all the sense in the world.
With the exception of Rudy Sarzo, and Stu Hamm 'signature' basses (oh, so many), most 'signature' basses are the basses we most associate with players throughout their careers. Not 'here's what he'd like to play if only someone would make one for him.'
Let me break it down that essay into a simple sentence.
"I absolutely felt the need to be redundant here, and now I'm doubling down".
Ask and ye shall receive.
I thought I saw one for sale online once used. I don't think I've seen another and after a quick google I came up empty.Has MM done a dual-single coil bass before?
Three sentences can be daunting for some people. I appreciate your efforts.
Enjoy the rest of the thread![]()
