Joe dart .. Ernie ball jazz !

The least expensive EBMM bass is $2,400. Is it worth an extra $300 for something a little different with a natural ash body and figured neck? To me it was.
Fair enough - I guess still haven't gotten current prices for EBMM stuff in my head, I still think of them listing at $1,800-$2K, but that probably hasn't been true for 5+ years.

And hey - if it brings you joy, all good. We can all spend whatever $$ amount we want on our stuff.

Enjoy it.

I agree - EBMM is grossly expensive anymore but everything is. I remember paying $1,100 out the door for a new fully spec'd Stingray 4 HH in 2009. Those days are way beyond us. Heck, a new Fender American 70s Jazz is pushing $2,400 and even a Yamaha Sheehan is $3k. I don't even want to get into amps.

It's probably a nice bass, but I'm not dying to play one. When EBMM came out with the Caprice, I wanted one but shortly thereafter, they raised the price by ~30%. I ended up buying one that was used. I enjoyed and played it for a couple of years and sold it because I wanted something else. EBMM said they discontinued the Caprice because they didn't sell and it's not surprising that they didn't sell after they raised the price by a huge amount. What's the price of this?

Two things, I wish Joe and Jack weren't "in character" in the video, and I wish they gave more info on the circuit. 250k pots is good info but is there anything else in the circuit? Is it effectively tone wide open? Somehow I doubt it.

I wonder why they didn't finish it.
It sure looks finished to me.

Also, even if they did not finish it, it's Joe's signature bass, not yours. Any feature is to his preferences, and it doesn't matter what some random people on the internet thinks about it. They'll sell out like every other run of Joe Dart signatures they've made. Vulfpeck and Joe Dart fans are ravenous.

Personally, the instruments aren't to my taste so I won't buy one. But I'm certainly not going to bemoan a talented dude for being renowned enough to be able to partner with one of the most well-known American instrument manufacturers in the world. I think it's great that a lot of his feature choices fly in the face of what a bunch of wienies on TalkBass think.

I am a fan of his bass playing, but not his signature basses.

This is a MusicMan Jazz Bass with an Ikea finish and a missing tone control for $2799.00USD.

Joe’s real number one for most of his studio work is a MIM Fender Standard Jazz Bass. I don’t think he paid $2799 for it either. In fact, I don’t think his mom paid over $400 when it was new.

Props to Joe for landing a lucrative endorsement deal with EBMM though. I wish him all the best.
