Joe dart .. Ernie ball jazz !

It's probably a nice bass, but I'm not dying to play one. When EBMM came out with the Caprice, I wanted one but shortly thereafter, they raised the price by ~30%. I ended up buying one that was used. I enjoyed and played it for a couple of years and sold it because I wanted something else. EBMM said they discontinued the Caprice because they didn't sell and it's not surprising that they didn't sell after they raised the price by a huge amount. What's the price of this?

Thanks for the info!

At this price (basically the same as a StingRay), I'm not interested (I'd buy a StingRay instead). This is precisely the big mistake that EBMM made with the Caprice - - they want to charge too much for a passive bass! I know - - there are some passive fans out there, but if I have a choice, I'd rather have the active bass for the additional flexibility.

For the math and internet impaired here, a new Sterling from EBMM will run you 2400. The Tim Commerford sigs ran for 3000 and the Mike Herrera sig was 2600, so this is in line with EBMM's current pricing model.

I personally am waiting for an import version.
The Cliff Williams Sting Ray Sig is over $7k.

I don’t think they expect to sell a lot of these, and that is another reason the price is so high. I also think EBMM is just running into the limits of pricing a very high quality production bass with well paid labor in the USA.
