The Capital Area Audiofest has just concluded. It's a show of very high end audio gear.

This our second year being a featured act. Monique did it again! It's intriguing to find extremely high end hand made audio with 6SL7s sticking out of the top.

One visitor who came to our performance said how refreshing it was to hear real instruments after going through four hotel floors of different audio trying to reproduce the real thing.

The performance space was nice sounding with not much reflective brightness. I reduced the sensitivity and boosted the highs just a titch. The line level was set to give me whatever volume my hands would deliver. These tweaks were just kinda a quick brush of the controls as the Monique is always excellent.

Monique delivered the full sonic spectrum and dynamics of touch and hand placement.

I remember this from last year. I wish I could have been there. Sounds wonderful.

Looking forward to getting my DC. I have a question. I'll be doing some recording soon, some live, some in the studio using studiolive board which captures audio as it sees it from the input so you can do whatever you want in the mix later rather than being stuck with your live eq/fx settings. Does it make sense to use Monique as outboard POST production on a recording? Will you still get the benefit of it in the mix? Seems like you would even with the extra a-d/d-a conversions.

Currently, and for the sake of simplicity since I'm also running sound for an 8 piece band while I'm playing, (don't ask), my line6 wireless direct out goes into my channel on the board. My aux send, which has it's own eq is feeding my amp. This gives me the luxury of not having to set up anything beyond the PA which is all wired together in a road case. The sound to the house and my amp are separate and are saved as part of the digital preset for the next time we play the same venue, and what goes to 'tape' is pre-eq unadulterated signal from the input. Seems to me if I run the playback into Monique and back into a new channel I should have a much better tone for the recording? Does this seem reasonable, or am I missing something?

Beautiful! I assume that is the Demeter Mini800 sitting right in the middle? (i.e., I assume this is the 'all in one pre/power' model)

Edit: Just saw that you posted to the 'Demeter integrated request'. Awesome. I most likely will have the desktop version one of these days. Don't need it... want it !

Interesting that there seems to be no fan/forced cooling. I guess even given the tubes and that powerful amp, the case is large enough for all that to run cool with no problem.

The Demeter 800-D layout is slightly different now. Not the main power module, but slightly different form factor hand made Monique interface boards accompany it. Same circuits - different boards.

A new fan, lighter duty is now positioned to the left. We found we didn't need a high flow rate due to the passive ventilation in the rack mount. Hence less noise when the fan is turned on. James confirmed that we did not need a fan at all in the Aluminum "Tardis" version. :cool:

Other than that it is pretty much the same. I'll post some newer "innards" pictures when I have them ready for the camera. Seems very personal. ;)

Sounds like you are on the edges of re-amping here. I am aware of some studio engineers using Monique in a re-amp situation. My expertise is not in this area, so I'll see if I can get them to participate.
