Jule Amps Monique part 5

Second question - I seem to have really fallen for running Mo through the power section of my V4b, the other half of the time I am using Mo with no amp, just monitors or IEMs. I can't tell if my bias towards the tube power section is real or imagined and my concern is that the M700 could be a disappointment in comparison. What do you all think?

I have not played Mo through any other amp, but then, I have no desire to do so. I can't imagine how playing through the 700 amp could be a disappointment! I love the attack and note envelope produced by the combination, as well as the tone. The only amp GAS I have at this point is a Bird Cage/700 combo because that design is just too damn cool. But given how awesome my tone is, there is no way I could justify the expense required to replace my Tardis with a Bird Cage.

For that asking price, it's worth a further look! That said, I'd recommend not purchasing an LWA unless you can demo it first. There has been several reports of distortion (right out-of-the-box) attributed to a mfg defect, when using the compression knob feature...which does add to the overall amp gain. Mine works flawlessly and provides a fantastic, slightly warm bass tone on it's own. Mo>effects return is even better! Hard to find a two-channel (and both channels can be used simultaneously--i.e. clean/dirty)/1000w/almost zero hiss noise-floor class d that's comparable.

I've been looking at possibly acquiring an M700 amp to pair with my Mo Bamboo...but it's difficult to justify the expense, given that my Mo does sound r-e-a-l-l-y good thru my LWA and XLS2502! While I'm pretty confident an M700 would make Mo sound even better, it's hard for me to justify that move without a/b testing...

Jule recently posted on Facebook a picture of the bag for the M700. Any body know what the price is? Also is there a bag that holds both the dovecage and m700?

I think I'm ready to pull the trigger, just have to figure out which bag. The other consideration is to get a rack 700 Mo and use the dovecage for no amp and backline gigs and the rack for normal gigs. It's a bit of an expense going that route as I have a dovecage already.

I had a nice conversation with Jule today, it was nice to finally "meet your maker". Enroute is an M700 with the new bag.

It should be a nice improvement on backline gigs where I've been plugging Mo into whatever GK, Hartke etc. amp is provided.

Also will be nice to get a direct A/B of this combo vs running Mo into the power section of my V4B.

I'm guessing the M700 will be on it's way soon. So in the meantime I have a question for you guys.

I had widdled my amps down to my V4b only (using Mo as the front end) and cabinets being either a Ampeg 810e or (2) 210Avs. Now I'm starting to miss my EA Nl210s which served a great middle ground. Anticipating I will love the M700 and will not be constrained by cabs that are 24" wide for my V4b; I am starting to reconsider some other cabs. The 810 is awesome, having a large garage and a pickup truck really make it a no brainer for the right gig. There is a hole in my line up as the 210Avs have their limits and fall short in some circumstances where the 810 is overkill. I'm looking for some suggestions that cover the gaps. It doesn't need to be a sealed 10 box but I do like the natural rolloff of the low and high end that those cabs give me.

Some considerations are: Mesa Subway 12/15, Berg HDN 210/112, Aguilar SL410; older Epifani UL310 or 410, Eden 410XLT, Bag End S15/S15XD. Barefaced, Fearful, Audio Kinesis, Ampeg 212AV, Hartke Hydrive... I realize I am all over the map. I had a big concern with carrying large cabs up and down the basement steps, but have since decided it's ok to store stuff in the garage and wheel it out to the truck when needed...

A query like that will lead to responses all over the map..anyway here's mine: I like the M700 with my Bag End cabs. The 15's are quite portable. Best you try some before you buy and narrow down your search.

That's ok my mind is all over the map, I've owned a lot of cabs over the years. I've gigged a pair of BE 15s for years. The new 'supercabs' are a bit of a mystery as I have not had an opportunity to play any of them. Seeing how the M700 gets along with my sealed ampegs will likely push me in a direction too. More so just want some sense from the Jule crowd if anything on my radar didn't particularly work or is amazing.

If you like 15's with a tight but nicely extended low end, and a great mid range (it has a 6" mid driver) without harsh highs, try the Baer ML115. I really liked that cab a lot with the Monique and the 700. The only reason I went with a pair of the Genzler BA12-3's is that they are basically a modular version of that same sound. But given that you like big cabs, while one is a great single cab solution for most gigs, a stack of them would just kill. And at 56 pounds or thereabouts, they are very reasonable in weight.

I sure would like too. I really dig the different iterations of the barefaced 10s. Still in my ampeg wheelhouse. I will have to flush out if the M700 is going to be used in addition to or in place of my V4b

My biggest concern with any cab is the balance between to much wooly low end on stage and to thin a tone. That's what has drawn me to the sealed ampegs in the first place.
