Jule Amps Monique part 5

The less I touch my amp, the happier I am. And while I love the variety of tonal range from the Sensitivity control alone, once I'm on stage, I don't usually want to even mess with that. Once I tweak my sound on setup, I don't usually screw with my EQ except on my bass doing some micro-adjustments along the way.

Same here.

Depending on the room, I may boost my mids or treble, but once I start a gig I almost never adjust my EQ. My Sensitivity is always at 2:00-3:00 as well and that never changes.

I love the simplicity of the Monique. Well over 2 years with Monique and I have no interest in other amps (except the Monique Combo!).

Same here. Even before Monique, after sound check, I generally don't adjust EQ. With Monique, the only thing I will adjust is the Sensitivity if I switch from P bass to Jazz.

Plays nice with Hathors. Outdoor festival, closing night. No FOH needed...

Small and great is very good.

What Monique combo that I'm not interested in at all, even a little or remotely or a little bit or considering or dreaming of or thinking about or contemplating?
Truly, if it was not for the fun I have being part of the creative spirit I feel here and with every Monique customer, I wouldn't do this at all. That is because the nitty gritty bits of business can be severely less than entertaining.

Example: The CAD drawings for the Stand-Alone 700 (henceforth known as the M700) were finally accepted this week by my wonderful metal house. Scheduled four weeks to completion. Simultaneously, the powder coating company (the M700 will be power coated black, not simply painted) said they could not give me the cost based on my CAD drawings. Somehow my CAD didn't meet their standards. Grrr. Kerfuffle. Grr.

It is going to happen. The solution for the above is to get the metal work done and then show the powder coating company the finished product. With that, they can tell me what it is going to cost and how long it is going to take.

See what I mean? The music is a whole lot more fun. :bassist:

Jule, any word on when the stand alone will begin to ship? oops! just saw your next post..... sorry!
It seems realistic to think that I can begin to ship to you good folks on the "list" in 5 or 6 weeks. I know it has been way too long.

Before Thanksgiving. We'll all be able to raise the ambient sound level while the others are stoking up on L-Triptophan.

How about overdrive possibilities on the Monique? Like the Ampeg PF series can. Can it be done with the Monique?
I'm using this wonderful pre for a few years now. Bought it used. For me a heavy overdrive is not important. But during coming festival other bassist's might want to use it.

Getting a decent OD pedal for the Monique would be better. I like using Darkglass Mircotubes Vintage for warm OD sound with Monique.

Not really. Its not designed to be a distortion box. Even with the 'sensitivity' control pushed, it doesn't overdrive.

I just picked up a Bearfoot Blueberry Overdrive. If you were looking for a nice, warm, low gain overdrive then that would be the pedal. I had a Dsrkglass B7k and I'm not a huge believer in their warmth, though I know they get lots of love.
