Jule Amps Monique Part III

I do exactly the same thing.

It works as an instrument selector too.

Ordered my Monique Rack Mount today!

Am I excited? You bet! Gonna gather up all the other stuff I need now for my super rig. Gotta narrow down my power amp choice now. I want to have everything here when the Monique arrives.

Had a couple of emails with Jule today. Super nice human. It is truly nice doing business with a person such as Jule.

Can't wait go play through it.

Sweet! Good luck to you. Yes, Jule is a wonderful man and is a pleasure to deal with. You can hear his love and passion for what he creates in his voice. I received an email from him this week stating that my Dove Cage is built and being burned in. Hopefully it will be shipping today. I can't wait to join the Monique family!

Nope. No harm at all.

One cool part of a tube input device in comparison to solid state is that we do not have the input level concerns (that can cause damage). The input part of a tube (the grid) is just a hunk of metal suspended in a vacuum. Nothing to hurt.

Sounds like a good idea that you are on to.

Thanks Jule! This way there is no chance of changing levels to the board when switching. A mute function might be nice though! I know the original design was not especially intended for Live use, but I believe most are using it that way. Still sounds great. Thanks

Here's another option:
Bob Magnusson created a thread here on TB a while back asking how he could switch between pickups on his DB (one for arco and one for piz). There was a foot switch that was recommended to him:

Since that was some time ago, you might want to contact him and ask him what he's using now. He is an incredibly nice guy, and one of the finest jazz DB players in the world, BTW. His website is:

Thanks! What I'm using seems to work fine. The only issue is level differences between the 2 basses. I'm still working on that.
Bob is a great guy. He was one of my instructors at BIT back in the day!

I always found with my whirlwind selector that in Y mode, the levels between A and B were slightly different. In Y mode, when you toggle between A and B, whichever LED was lit was slightly hotter than the other. Maybe it was just my unit, but it used to bug the crap out of me. Anymore I think I'd pony up for a lehle

I finally scored a Crest CA9 power amp. Monique is very, very happy! Just an amazing combination. :cool:
