Hi, I'm new to this forum, but I have used it from time to time to help in regard to instruments and equipment. I am one of the Australian Monique owners, based in Perth, I used her for the first time at a gig last night at a venue we have been resident at for about 2 years. It is a difficult venue for bass players. Over my time I have been able to 'tame' my sound there. I have been playing with markbass gear there and have pretty much settled on my LMK head with a 210. So hard to get lows and low mids there without getting muddy really quick.
Last night I played with Monique through an EV Q44 (Mk1) and into an orange 115. I dialed back the bass to about 10 0'clock, the highs up to about 2, left the mids at 12. What I got was very warm, very round, very full, very clear, deep bass. Mids were punchy. Plus when I hit the strings hard I got this nice growl. It never got muddy at all. I pretty much left my settings there all night. I did however push the sensitivity knob up to about 3 expecting it to break up a bit, but she stayed very warm. I am a very content bass player this morning :-)

What took me months to do with my old gear (without really getting the sound I liked) was sorted without any effort last night.

Can't wait to try her in other venues

Stosh Jarecki (Rotaryfilms.com) put this video together as part of a "pitch" to Hollywood TV folk. This was when the shop was still up in the mountains North of L.A. Stosh's "day job" at the time was doing video work for Halford (Judas Priest, Fight).

The plan was to sell the idea for a series of them. Stosh has several Emmy Awards, and the photographer was trained in part by his dad, John Wayne's camera man.

Tonight I am playing at the local blues club, it's a fairly big venue, I am going to try a 115/210 combination. The coming weekend we have two gigs, I am going to try just a 210 at one that always complains about noise, and I'm going to try my gk neo 410 at the other. I am quite interested to hear the differences.

I had a gig Saturday night. During the breaks the topic of discussion was my sound, with words like warm, full, beautiful, sweet, and such being used.

Lol! please don't haze him with any that speaker size argument! Lol! Just admonish him to lower his voice....

(in a low voice) Yes, I've heard all the arguments.

115+210 on Tuesday night = pretty close to bass heaven. The thing that stood out to me was how the slightest change to how I played, my attack on the strings, both with my left and right hands caused the most wonderful change in dynamics.

I can see that this preamp is going to take me to another level as a bass player.

I love the 115/210 combo with this preamp.

Friday night with the gk 410. Sounded great, don't get me wrong, but a little more 'sterile' than the other cabs. Most noticeable was in the upper mids where there was a lack of body compared to the 115 or 115/210. This was particularly noticeable when things got loud.

Sunday with the 210. This was a quiet gig. The rig sounded great, nice and warm, good all round sound. The mb210 is great with Monique.

From my experience I'll be sticking with the orange 115 and mb210. Any combination sounds amazing. Together on Tuesday I got probably the best sound I have ever experienced.

I've not been this excited about playing for many years

I expect that there is no TB player worse than I. You don't want any lessons from me. Trust me.
