Just 1 brand, or more brands?

Currently Gibson. I started with a 1970's Japanese bass, then Aria, Stinger, Dean, Godin, Fender and ended up with all Gibson. Even my six-string is a Gibson SG. The six string I bought because it was cheap and made in the USA. I ended up with two Gibson that are both short scale. I evolved (or devolved) into a SS player and simply enjoy the feel better.

I used to be a Yamaha Guy years ago, then I started trying other basses and settled on Ibanez. Then I realized I don't like newer ibanez (last decade or so) so I stuck with classic passive Ibanezes and have picked up a few other basses I've liked in the past few years.

I believe in a diet rich in the major bass groups -- Fender, Rickenbacker, Hofner and Music Man -- with a little Alembic and Sadowsky thrown in for spice.

I have an EBMM, a Gibson, and a Schecter. I'd have to say I'm partial to Gibsons, but would love to have a Ric 4001.

I use two custom handmade basses from the same luthier, RBasic, from Croatia, Europe
I used to have Musicmans, Laklands, Fenders and Squiers before I turned to RBasic, and I tried a couple of his guitars and basses before I placed an order. If I don't move from my country, he will be my go to guy for the third and fourth bass. I now really know what I like, i.e. neck profile, woods, hardware and preamp, the pickups are always replaceable, but in this two, I nailed it with everything.

That's a healthy collection. They must spend a bunch of extra production time on those Attitudes. Every one I've played felt like they were just set up by Billy, himself.

2 RD707's! I had one that sported a three piece rock maple-quartersawn neck. The craftsmanship on these things was amazing, plus, I just like the way they look. It's the metal version of the P bass.

Fender P, couple of Squier P projects, more 4s from Rickenbacker, MusicMan (US SUB SR and import SUB Sterlind) and Hamer, Tobias and Carlo Robelli 8s, Warwick, Ibanez and a heavily modded Vaccaro 5ers, and another Ibanez 4 string acoustic bass guitar. I like the variety from these that I can't get from a single manufacturer.

Who of you TB-ers only 1 have brand for your bass guitars and who of you have more than 1 brand?

For those who use only 1 brand : how many basses did you had to try before you got the gear you have right now?

I have nothing but different brands of basses. I have a Lakland, ESP/LTD, Warwick, Pedulla and an 80s BC Rich. Each one sounds and plays completely differently, which is why I still have them. I suppose if I could find one brand that did everything, all I would need is a 4, 5 and maybe a 6 of that brand. I don't think that's likely.
