1 '98 Music Man Stingray 5 (w/ ceramic pup - yay!) (My main instrument
1 2000 Fender MIM Fretless Jazz (I had it de-fretted)
1 1978 Alembic Series 1 (4 string, doesn't get a lot of use, but no matter, I want to have a good home!)
Since I think any self-respecting bassist should have a Precision at least on hand (Okay, I'll admonish myself for that, don't bother...
), I'm looking for a 5-string Precision.

I am a typically weird specimen of the human race.
On the one hand, I have settled on five string fretted P-style basses with "wide" string spacing and alder bodies.
On the other hand: while my favorite is a Sadowsky, I also own Nordstrand and Benavente basses. And if I ever make enough room I'd like to own the Fender Am. Std. P5.
Next on my list will probably be a Martin Keith Elfin Plus, a singlecut. Definitely not P-style in look... but it will have a P-style pickup.
Overall point to the OP: curiosity about what others do is fine, but for yourself, get what you like whether it turns out to be multiple brands or just one.

I've owned a lot of basses over the years, usually only 1-2 at a time. Over he last couple years it's been Roscoe. I've had 4-5 go through the house. I have one right now. Going to add a second as soon as I can. While I probably should have a P and a J and a whatever, but Roscoe's are the best playing, sounding and looking basses I have owned.

Had many other basses over the years, sorry I sold my '68 Ric 4001.
I dig my 4003, may get another bass someday...4003 fretless maybe...?
