Just a curious question. What picks do you use?

Dunlop Ultex 1 or 0,88, depending on which is in my pocket at the moment. Good grip, good size, quite stiff and takes a beating. Longest lasting picks I've ever used. These are very good for hard playing, but I would go with a softer type if I was more light-handed.

+1, these are great. I have some with my logo on them, and I send one along with a sticker with delivered products. I’ve had several customers come back and ask me what they are and where they can get more! I think the gauge I use is around .72mm. Clayton also makes them.

I’m not a frequent pick user, but after some experiments I’ve settled on Pickboy picks in medium to heavy gauges (.75-1mm), Tortex .73 or .88 and plain ol’ Fender medium or heavy.

They’re all the standard teardrop shape, more or less, with Pickboy being a bit stubbier and I select either the tip or the blunt “shoulder” depending upon the sound I need.

Between the three different types listed I haven’t noticed a huge difference in tone. I think the gauge has more of an impact.

Any of you using a thumb pick?
I've tried it but it just doesn't work for me. Gotta have a flat pick. Usually it's a Dunlop Max Grip 1.5 mm, but I've been experimenting with a Big Stubby 3 mm and a Primetone Jazz pick that's 5 mm thick. Really liked them both at first, but for some reason, the Max Grip feels like home to me.

I've been thinking about this! I have been using my thumb in that way just nekkid to the point where I got some skillz. Love to hear about thumbpickers!
Same here. Sometimes it borders on slap, but not quite. Definitely brings a new dimension to things. Thinking about incorporating a thumb pick so I can get both pick and finger sounds at the same time.

Ha, I made a thread about these a while back. Bought one of each of the different makes and found I like the "Pure" and "GT" the best. The GT is a little more aggressive and clacky, but they both sound nice.
I just wish they made the pick a little bigger. It's nice to have 3 different sides/sounds to play around with, but they don't stay put in my hand very well because of how small they are.

My go-to picks:

(^^ Truly great picks. Probably my overall favs)

(^^ I tend to go for .73 or .88)

(^^ I prefer Mediums over Heavys)

Clayton Acetal picks .63mm

The only pick that doesn’t move in my sweaty hands & doesn’t feel like sandpaper.

Last for ever - they don’t wear like nylon picks do on SS strings.

When digging in, they don’t over-flex like nylon picks do... hence I use a .63 in these (I used .71 to .88 in nylons).

Recently I have found that I like to use the rounded end of a thin pick.

So I took a chance and ordered some of these "Pointless Picks".

When you pick up one you don't have to rotate the pick for the rounded end.
The whole pick is round.
You get nine picks in the sampler.Three of each.
Blue 1.0
Green .72
Red .58

How do they feel?
Use the round edge of your favorite pick.
