Just commited TB heresy...

Thanks Greg C and Hopkins. Gosh, I have Fender 950's on my 3TSB/TORT, but rounds on my Fiesta/Maple so I guess I'm OK. I certainly wouldn't want to commit some grievous social error and have others throw fruits and veggies at me when I walked by.

LOL, its just a bit of humor man, none of it is serious.

The TB Pope...I'm dyin' to know who that is.......
I don't know who the TB Pope is, but I know who the TB Satan is...me. Here's why:
-When I get an American Vintage '57 P, I'm going to take off the gold pickguard and put a mirror one on
-I hate all 'modern and pointy' basses, weird shaped basses, and ones that look very similar to classic designs, but are slightly differently shaped. Yes, that's all Ibanez, Carl Thompson, Warwick, G+L, etc...basses.
-I don't like Les Claypool's playing
-I hate Fieldy's playing
-I hate all white pickguards
-And worst of all...I wouldn't be seen dead playing a jazz bass live

And that's only a few things! Aren't I just evil!

I propose a restructuring of the TB administrative system! Mods are now bishops, staff are cardinals, and whoever runs this holy place shall be pipe!
EDIT: Pope. My autocorrect knows I'm protestant

No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.

I took the flats off my P bass, and replaced with rounds.
Also, in full confession mode, I switched the gold ano guard I had on it for a black one. Also, I don't like most tort 'guards.
(I also like the bass this way.)

Please don't tell the TB Pope...
I thought you were going to say you misspelled Squier. That really brings out the criers! :D

I already know. I felt it.

Oh, he KNOWs... ;)
I know you're being tongue in cheek, but don't buy into the stuff that floats around here that everyone at TB thinks that a P can only be flatwound and can only wear a Tort p/g or, if original, a Gold Anodized one (aka "honorary Tort").
Ironically, my P does have a Tort guard, but that's 'cause my original black one broke and - at the time (1990) - tort was a little unusual as 70s had been black (very common used then) and the Am Std was still white. Most importaatnly though - my old man had a used tort p/g so that's what I've used ever since 'cause I'm toocheap to replace it with a white or black one.
As for the flatwounds - it's simply the guys who have drunk the Kool-Aid that speak up every time someone says something. I'd be willing to be that if there was an HONEST and ACCURATE poll of TBers and/or bassplayers in general that at least half of us PBers would be playing RW.
Remember that when Rotosounds were new that was an innovation and bassplayers came flocking to the new sound that allowed you to hear the pitch of the notes you were playing. Imagine that - actually KNOWING what noteyou were playing without having to look at the neck, it staggers the imagination.
But for the record, you many want to keep you asbestos pjs on at night, they just might be coming for you.

TBPH, the only thing about bass playing orthodoxy I've seen anywhere regarding sacrilège would be playing with a pick. Apparently, that's a big deal with seemingly a lot of bassists out there, and maybe here.

Hating torts or flats, don't really see the pushback from those POVs on TB.
