Just purchased a 1961 Jazz Bass

I had my Ebay account hacked once. Got an email from Ebay informing of it. Didn't even realize there was a problem as I had no auctions going. Went to look and my Ebay account was auctioning off a Motorcycle.

Rule of thumb. There is no such thing as a free lunch, especially on Ebay. No one has ever purchased a very expensive bass for pennies on Ebay.

Never happened. Good deals maybe but no free lunches.

Figured it could be a scam. But that's the beauty of ebay/paypal. I WAS aware it of the scam potential for sure. Worth the risk though. My payment actually went to the person that got hacked. The scammers ( most likely some third world trash ) sent an email stating that "our paypal is no working" and can you pay with Visa. Anyhow, the sportscard company that got hacked already refunded my money. The pictures though, definitely legit in my opinion.

You will never ever ever ever ever find a ten thousand dollar bass for two grand.

Your chances of finding a ten thousand dollar bass for 50 bucks at a yard sale are greater.

Glad it turned out fine for you :) Sorry about missing out on the bass though, that definitely would have been sweet!

No doubt! Would have been sweet for sure. Actually, it was almost worth it for the twenty minutes I thought I scored! "Only those who dare, catch the rainbow of success!"- Dusty Rhodes.
My rainbow.......well, my rainbow caught on fire then I drowned in some mud, then my corpse was consumed by sea lice.

Nice! Glad you got your funds back! :)

FYI, There are still some insane deals that pop up on Ebay that are legit. A few weeks ago, a guy bought an authentic prewar Gibson Mastertone flathead banjo for around $5000.00 that was valued at around $80,000.00. It was apprasied and authenticated by 2 authorities on it. The pictures were not the best but good enough that the buyer decided to take a chance and it payed off bigtime. I've personaly bought a few vintage instruments for pennys on the dollar that were mis-catagorized before. I bought a antique violin for $200.00 that had a $6000.00 bow with it once. Of course, I have spent a great deal of time on Ebay over the past 12 years. It was an incredible place for bargains during the first 5 years until everyone caught on........

THIS IS A SCAM!! Where do you get these guys at?! You will never ever ever never find this bass ever. The chances of 50 of your friends giving you ten thousand dollars at a yard sale are way grater.

I agree. Ebay used to have some sweet deals, and you can still find some if you're patient and diligent. I used to have regular searches set up to check for misspellings, and often people who don't know better don't know how to advertise what they have...you may have to weed out a lot of posts, but just searching for "old Bass" or "bass guitar" can net you some interesting stuff.
