Do these come with a carrying case? We are going on a 1300 mi train trip when I pick mine up.
Make me a member, please!
Here's mine, leaning on a Roland Micro Cube Bass amp:
I haven't played with any guitarists, but I have played alongside a dozen or so ukulelists and had no problem being heard, and boy does a bottom end improve the sound of massed ukes! This looks like a great combo. does the Micro Cube cut it if you were playing with a couple acoustic guitars?
Hmm... banjos and mandolins can be pretty loud, so I really don't know if the Roland would cut it. Wouldn't surprise me if it did, though. Also this looks this rig would be fun at a Bluegrass get together. There is a monthly one in my area and usually 20 to 30 musicians show up.
I think I'd probably be more confident of the 30 watt Fender cutting it at a bluegrass thing, but the Roland's battery operation can be pretty useful, for example, replace the supplied short carrying strap with a (strong) guitar strap and you're mobile, if a little weighed down.Interesting, I bought a Fender Rumble 30 to use with my Ubass because I new I needed an easy to transport combo amp. 30 pounds, 30 watts through a single 10inch speaker. Was going to buy the 15 watt version but was afraid it wouldn't cut it.
The battery operation of the Roland seems like it could come in handy. The Fender Rumble needs to be plugged in(no battery operation).
I'll take a number. Today's my birthday and my wife got me a mahogany U-Bass from Dusty Strings.
I think every bass player who travels will want one in their carry-on luggage.
