So, I sent back that second Eafengrow (in post #217) and ordered this instead...

A Tangram Orion. So far I'm very pleasantly surprised by it...super sharp Wharncliffe blade, well-made, and small and compact. Ball-bearing flipper (not assisted-opening) opens easily and smoothly. Only 4" long closed, it will serve it's purpose of my EDC 'around the house' knife. Lightweight and thin, but still plenty of blade to handle all the household stuff.

Just had to buy another one...

Sanrenmu 1006. Nice size, 5" closed, Sandvik steel blade, ball-bearing flipper with G-10 handles. Feels great in my hands, and is solidly built. Despite being the same size as my Proelias, this one is noticeably lighter even with a lot of steel in that blade. The best thing is it was only $30! Very happy with this one.

What is the most secure lock/easily deployable blade combo you know of. I hate to be the "Benchmade axis assist change my mind" guy, well, is there anything else that'll be CA legal, assist open, and close to fail proof? If ever required, I don't want a strike to a dense object to buckle the action.

As a lefty, I love the axis lock and it’s easy to deploy, but the axis is not as strong as a good frame lock.

If it were me, it would be a Sebenza 21, if we are talking about production folders. I don't really worry about locks that much, though. If I am using a knife in a situation that I'd worry about the lock, I'd be using a fixed blade. Any of the top production knife locks are good enough for me.
