Beautiful! And great timing too-I just recieved a fretless neck and have sent it and my Pink bass to Phil for fitting. I bought this Ex Factor new in '88, it's # 524. I've always thought a fretless Factor would kill, now I'll have interchangable necks!
Pearl Pink was a very limited run of 20. The first one was made for Jamaldeen Tacuma by special request, and while he had the paint mixed he did a batch.

Mine was pink as well #440, sold it a few years ago to the original owner.

just wanna share some pics brothers... :D

lovin, my 3rd Ex Factor (trans blue)... :bassist:

I just picked this one up here on tb. 86, it's got some dings and scratches, but I've already emailed Phil and that'll be taken care of here shortly. Plays great, replaced a fender custom shop that I have regretted trading off for many years now.

Right it's finally arrived... the only problem is... it's in Canada at a friend's house and not with me in Dubai. So if anyone knows anyone who might be coming down to Dubai anytime soon... please let me know. And before anyone asks why it's in Canada... it's because my plan didn't work and I'm stupid that way sometimes... :bawl:

I live in Dubai. Maybe we could jam when you get your cool and rare kubicki. That's the only maple fretboard kubicki that I've seen.

Hey guys. Finally it arrived yesterday along with my dear mom. I am attaching some pictures below.

I must say I'm really impressed with the new Kubicki Ex-factor although I haven't tried it on a proper amp as yet (my amp is busted and I will take it to a friend's place tonight to let loose). Below are my first thoughts.

The Good :D:

1) Off the bat it's very comfortable.

2) The Maple fretboard is nothing short of beautiful.

3) Holding it feels like it's built like a tank. Feels really solid.

4) The finish on this instrument is nothing short of spectacular

5) The design (as with every Kubicki) is well contoured to sit comfortable on your abdominal area (or my ever growing one).

As for the sound... like I mentioned above, I need to test it out on a proper amp so watch this space for the review soon.

The Bad :eyebrow::

But I am a little disappointed in a few things though.

1) The action is set way too high... I don't know if this is the case with all new Factor basses.

2) The height of the bridge pickup is really high for some weird reason (Picture attached)

3) The fret markers on the top of the fretboard (when you're looking down) look as if they were drawn by magic marker and are a little smudged (Picture attached)

Other than that I'm really happy with my brand new Ex-Factor and I'm sure it'll be turning a few heads as I haven't seen anyone with one in Dubai.

And now what you guys have been waiting for :D

:help:

Ok guys just to show you what sort of action it came with... I've played around with the bass and to be honest it's getting a little more difficult to play as time goes by.

What's the best way to fix the action on the Factor through the truss rod or bridge saddles? I've always played Factors with amazing action where I didn't have to do anything and it just played like a dream... but this is getting a little out of hand (no pun intended :smug:) I am definitely going to change the strings to a lighter gauge today so that might help I suppose.
