Congratulations! What a beautiful bass! Hope you play it in good health.
The wear pattern on this keeps getting cooler and cooler for me.
Full confession: I went through a weird period the last few months where I convinced myself that should get rid of this instrument and some other things and go back to playing the four string bass exclusively.

I've been interested in getting an Olinto 4 string P for a while now. I'm primarily a bright stainless steel roundwound player and was wondering if any Olinto players could share their experiences that had similar taste. My main bass is a Fender Custom Shop '59 reissue that I love, and I'm wondering what kind of build quality or differences I can expect from an Olinto. Thanks!
I don't own an Olinto bass, but I have a Fullerton 62 reissue pbass with an Olinto pickup. Not as nice as a real thing, but essentially a CS with Olinto pickup. It's the best sounding p pickup I've ever played, and it can do pretty much anything. I think you'll be happy with whatever strings you put on the bass, but I think if you're looking for a "bright" aggressive tone, go for a maple fretboard or maybe look for a Moollon. They have ebony fretboards and are known for having a brighter, more open tone.

Olinto (Olinto flats/foam mute) —> Aguilar DB750 —> Epifani UL410 Series II and the bass is not going through the PA
When I received the bass I tried a lot of strings, worked with the trussrod and bridge. And the nut is too low.
I put some glue and bakingsoda in it as a temporary save. Will have to go to a luthier for a new nut.
But man, the tone and feel of this bass, feeling home immediately.
It's an amazing instrument!
I need some help on recommendation the right bass. I have never played a bass with P pick ups, so now I am looking for a 5 string. I can't decide between a P bass and a PJ bass. I play mostly on my Church and we play mostly contemporary music. Any suggestions
P basses are pretty popular in the contemporary worship scene so I think you'll be fine there.
Do you lean towards a more bridge-focused tone? If so, going all in on just a P pickup will be a big change but if having a bridge tone isn't a big component of your tone, then I think you'll dig a P.
Nothing fills out a song like a P. That dual tone Olinto P that's in their shop now would be a killer, I'm sure.
