My 55-01 came in yesterday and man is it SWEET!

The one I owned before was about 10.5 lbs - this one weighs in at 8.5 lbs!! I actually really like the sound as is once I put on a set of GHS Brite Flats I had lying around, and it'll sound even better with Sadowsky flats.

I think I still want to eventually put USA Barts and an Audere in there, but it's god enough for now.

Thanks! I really like it - this one's a keeper, for sure. Love the figuring of the body, love the figuring of the neck, love how dark the rosewood fretboard is. The body seriously looks bookmatched! It really looks like they took all the best pieces of wood in the factory and made my bass.

I sold my USA Peave Millennium Plus 5 to get this. I prefer the way these Hipshot Licensed tuners work better than the USA ones on the Peavey!

Yours looks really good! I love that natural quilt look!

I've heard great things about the LH3 but I still think I'm going to go with an Audere 3ZB. I want the active blending and Z-mode switch.

yeah i have the audere in my dj4 and it really is an amazing preamp. you still have that nice passive sound but on steroids. im thinkin about making some soundclips this weekend if i have time alot of people have been asking me how it sounds and its hard to describe sounds.

I have 8 basses, 7 have maple boards.

In this case I'll make my 2nd exception.

If you ever want to sell it - CALL ME FIRST!

Thanks, but if I even think about selling this one my wife will kill me! I've been playing bass for seven years and have owned thirteen different basses (one at a time) during that time! She's beginning to think I've got commitment issues and my friends are taking bets on how long I'm going to have each one.

Here's an example: six months ago I had a G&L L2500 Tribute. I sold that one and bought a Peavey Millennium Plus 4. Two months later I sold that and bought a Peavey Millennium Plus 5. I just sold that to buy this Lakland.

Maybe I do have commitment issues... :hmm:

Maybe I just need to be committed... :help:

:D

Nah! That's not a commitment issue, that's just being a TB'er. GAS is just a side affect of logging in to this forum. We've ALL been there, and some of us still are.:help:

It just makes me look like a spaz, though! :(

Let me tell you this. Women, unless they're musicians also, will never understand the mind of their musician boy friends/husbands so it's just part of the territory to look like an idiot in front of them. Every time I look in the classifieds and see basses that I want my wife just leaves the room. Isn't it amazing how they still love us?

I tried equating it to shoes and she kinda gets it. Pretty loose analogy, but I'm sticking to my guns. :ninja:

I was super impressed with her yesterday (which reminds me that I need to tell her about it). I had talked about wanting a new amp, to which she usually says that I already have an amp. She's a scrapbooker and does a lot of picture editing and digital scrapbooking. Yesterday she asked me to describe my current amp in scrapbooking terms. It was really cool because I could explain that my current amp (Behringer BX3000) is like that little paint program that comes on your computer and the amp I want (Carvin BR610) is like Adobe Photoshop. She got it! She wants to work something out!

Do I have a cool wife or what?

I've got to do something about replacing this Bartolini MK-1 preamp. I actually like the sound of the pickups in passive mode, so the pickups aren't that big of a deal. I can't turn up the treble on the preamp more than a little bit before it adds a significant amount of hiss to the signal. :(

Yeah, she gets it. Most will, just gotta speak a common language. :)
