Hey Guys, I coudnt belive my eyes when i seen there was another thread for laklands and especialy one for 01 series. I got my first lakland last week and i am loving it!!! I didnt even try one out before i bought it. I just read and read what all the great things you had to say. SO thanks to all of you. If it wasnt for you i would have bought something else ... Fender, G & L, or even a peavy...... Here is a pick of my bass and my new amp. Would also like to join this clud... Let me know what my number is.

I bought my first Lakland the same way, just plucked it off the wall and took it home.
You can have any number you want (see page 1), just pick one (self-service).
That's a great looking bass!
How does it sound through that Fender rig?
Has anyone got a picture of an 01 with Roger's latest pickguard variation, the "J"?

*Glad I caught this post. Had the old style pickguard on my 44-01 but was reluctant to put one on my 55-01 because I didn't like the way it avoided the lower horn. This solves that dilema and will be getting one ASAP. Will post pictures once installed if no one else beats me to it. Thanks!

Ordered The "J" pickguard from Roger on Saturday and it came in the mail today. Will install it tonight after work and should be able to post pictures before bed.
I would not call it vintage, Bartolini calls it Classic.
With the preamp in it's a very modern tone.
With the preamp out it's classic.
To me it sounds exactly the way a bass should sound.
And it sounds good all the time...
