Thanks Doug. Still wandering about the Pickguard color though. I think White or Vintage White Pearl. Maybe I shouldn't even use one. I do alot of slapping and tend to scratch the body below the G string. I mainly am doing it for protection. Any advice? Pickguard Color? With or Without a Guard? Thanks Rick

I have Barts in my 55-94. First time I have used them and they seem very warm. I like a more aggressive sound and can almost get there with my Eden Rig. The Barts are great for the old school sound in my opinion. How do they differ from the New Lakland Pickups and Preamp? I wonder if just changing the pickups to Lakland or EMG's would help? Any advice? I do alot of slapping.

You could go without and put some clear film over the area that gets scratched...and just trade it out every once and a while. That's what I would do with that bass.

It's very possible that this is going to be my next fretless:

Or, I might do a vintage tint mahogany body. I don't know what to do next, a "back up" fretless or a 5-string.

The color is actually more Blue (Kind of between Sonic & Daphine). The pics make it look like Seafoam Green. The only place I know to get Lakland Pickguards is Jeannie's Pickguards in CA. They don't offer mint white. That's why I was thinking White with the Blue. Or maybe White Parchment if they have that. If I got White would you get plain White or Parchmant White if avaliable? Or a Pearl White vs Vintage Pearl White? Like I said the color is more Sky Blue than what the pics show.

Jeannie's makes mint guards for Lakland, although they might not have them on the site. Shoot an email to Roger over there, he'll help you out.:)

OK, can barely type (been playing SOOOO much this week, it hurts so much, yet feels so good!!!), but came in the house for a break and Old School was on. Anyway, anyone else notice the band playing Frank's wedding at the beginning is anchored by a beloved Lakie 55 series? Just curious.
