My tone was soo good, my little girl was ready to jam....she told me last night that she wants a lakland. This is where she was pointing out that I was playing the wrong thing.

Thanks, Me to but things never go well for me so im expecting more like 4 weeks :(
Maybe someone could have a word with Dan and ask him to fast track it through ;-)

Well, look at the bright side, even if it DOES take four weeks (which I sincerely hope it doesn't), you're still doing a lot better than Evan and his DJ (which I am SOOOOOOOOO excited to see) which is over a year now if I remember correctly.

major congrats!!! EVERY Lakland is special!! I agree with the 44/55 series comment...I have 3 variants and am happy with each!

as for the lines.....I am not sure on the Skylines...maybe some form of plastic? they do stand out but not from a few paces away.....they disappear nicely at about the second or third row (from the stage).....leave them be...no reason to cover them....(IMHO!)

the US lines are hand sanded birds eye maple...hand done by Carl......

You'll LOVE the mwah factor....if it does not cry enough for you send it in and have Carl set it up...he recently re-did mine and oh my.......
Thanks for the info. It's out for delivery this morning, so I'll know for sure this evening. I'm not trying to hide the lines from others. More for my benefit, but it's no big deal either way. I had an ebonol board once on a bass with bright white lines, and it wasn't that bothersome.

I'm assuming this bass will show up with flats, no? Might have to run down to the local GC and pickups some Sunbeams which are my favorite for fretless!

Cool photos! Liking that pickguard more and more! Just out of curiosity...what Danelectro guitar is that?

Aaron, you better get that precious little girl anything she wants. BTW, did you plug up the baby Eden?

She already gets anything she wants...the wife makes sure of that. She wants a lakland...I mean, I can;t let her down right? She needs a short scale glaub. I hooked up the baby eden at home and it sounded great though my 212. although I couldn't really push it. Sounded much "fuller" than my WTX260 did. I took it in to practice because the guys didn;t believe they made midget bass amps now. I will be testing it out Friday night and Sunday afternoon in the studio and at a gig. Did you check out those links I sent you?

A YEAR!!!!!! OMG. please tell me that was a special order and not normal.
Ive never ordered a bass that wasn't in stock before and i know things can happen that causes delay.
Im not expecting any problems but i always seem to have bad luck when i order out of stock goods.
And with each gig my P5 is getting nicer and nicer.

My US order is in it's 5th month with another 3 to go. :hmm:
Dan has hopes to get this lead time down to 4 months by the years end.

It has been over a year and the wait will continue into September. But, I'm not complaining (anymore). Besides my to-die-for fretless, I have something else to help me out...

and yes it was "custom" order. Well, it's nothing fancy and was supposed to be a standard USDJ. One thing led to another and it has humbucking chi-sonics and a j-retro. The issue has been getting the neck done
