It has been over a year and the wait will continue into September. But, I'm not complaining (anymore). Besides my to-die-for fretless, I have something else to help me out...
and yes it was "custom" order. Well, it's nothing fancy and was supposed to be a standard USDJ. One thing led to another and it has humbucking chi-sonics and a j-retro. The issue has been getting the neck done
My tone was soo good, my little girl was ready to jam....she told me last night that she wants a lakland. This is where she was pointing out that I was playing the wrong thing.

Fretless 55-02 arrived today, and......
I still suck at fretless!!!! It's been a long time since I've owned one and actively played, so I'm sure I'll get back to where I was before, which wasn't much. I think I might send this one off too Chicago for some special care. Some of the notes pinch a bit too much in certain spots. I used to sand my previous fretless basses with a radiused block, but since this is a compound radius board, I'm afraid to mess with it.
Hey guys,
Im in need of a 5 banger. I have looked at EBMM SR5, Fender, Schecter, etc. and am yet to try a Lakland.
They are usually had for cheaper, or close to the above basses.
I play mostly funk, R&B, hip hop, blues, jazz, etc.
What Im wondering is, should I take a look into the 55 series, or whatever you offer up!
Im a jazz bass guy, so a thin neck is all my thing.
I know it probably sounds stupid, but I thought I would ask you guys instead of starting a new thread.
Sounds like you are looking for a 55-02. I just got mine and it kills! GReat active EQ for the funk/R&B thing....can do almost any tone from Jazz, to P, to Musicman that you want. Good luck in your search.

No login problems for me either, although it's dog slow.
If your a J bass guy, I'd try the JO and DJ...but you can't go wrong with a 55 series either!
Im looking for some variety from my flat stringed Geddy. I need something bright, with lots of crisp attack.
The 55 series seems like it has some awesome tonal options, with a JMM configuration.
