Well,

I played a passive "J" equipped Lakland for the first time yesterday.

It was a Skyline DJ 4 in natural with a white p/g and white blocks/biniding. Despite it not being quite my thing, too narrow at the nut, and too small of a body, it played and sounded amazing. It had tons of punch and growl and could warm up really well. I loved the tone, so much so that I now want a Skyline JO 5. Dang gas! However, it was a HEAVY bass.

Cool look...Personally, I just prefer rosewood boards on P basses... A 3T burst w/rosewood board and blocks would be very cool!

This is exactly, I mean EXACTLY what I want. Evans US Glaub with Blocks and Binding has been the exact thing I want, but in a 5er. I have even been trying to score a Decade neck to put on my glaub. I thought 3TB, with a BWB P/G and a bound and blocked neck would look sweet with a black headstock. Anyone help me out and get me one?!?!?!?!?

That would be a tough one. Maybe buy a scratch and dent from Leo and swap necks, and then sell the Decade?

That was my plan. If anyone would want a Decade with a Glaub neck....let me know. Maybe we can work something out. I hate to tie up my money in a decade and then have to sit on it a while, not knowign how it would sell. there is some other stuff I need (like a fretless) and can't afford a whole decade...lol..not yet anyway.

Thanks! I bought it used in June. Although I still go back and forth on the shoreline gold, the bass is otherwise fantastic.

I used to have a sky dj like that. I miss it. Was it in a shop?

Dependent upon how much I like my up and coming Lakland, I would possibly trade you my Geddy for that combination.

3tsb is one of my last choices, but I think the only way it will see the light of day (and sell the 30 units required to order it) is to use a standard color.

Oly white? Natural's a color, right? TTS is one of my last choices too. I can't get on this ride right now anyway, so that's all moot.

Better make sure of interchanging the necks my son....Laklands are NOT like "F"s, the different model necks do not alway swap. Get with Leo or Brian and make sure what you are planning.

It was at Music Villa in Bozeman, MT. I really didn't think I liked passive j styled basses until I played this thing. It blew my mind. I also got to try a Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 combo and it, with the DJ, was great. Devistating combination, but not quite as good as the GK stuff sounded.

My biggest problem now is that I want a shoreline gold/tort/maple/matching headstock Skyline JO 5, but they don't make them and I doubt 30 people would order one.

Maybe I can find a used one for a decent price and get it refinished.

I already did....I was told that a decade neck would fit on a Glaub or a JO4....I would love to find 2 and have a P and J in that set-up...although I will not be selfish...I will just take one right now, or if Evans old one ever pops back up for sale, make a move on a US!

I can totally understand that. I'm very happy with my herd right now, and the LOG bass is likely to come only as a fiver (I stick to fours). What's your US Glaub look like?

I haven't posted mine yet in part 23, so...

Here is my USA Glaub...Very traditional which is interesting since I don't normally like Tburst finishes. I am mainly a 5 string guy but I don't seem to miss it on the Glaub.

And my other Lakland
