Now that I've spent a little time with my new girl, I'm a total Lakland believer. This is gonna get expensive.

sorry man! the bug bit us all.....yup expensive is a good word for it.....but you will be playing some of the best basses on the planet!

Ah yes, but I don't know how I would go finding a MM style pickguard in Aus...I'll be on the lookout though, I'm sure there's some on the 'Bay.

OK, can I get a #? This is my Lakland Bob Glaub USA....Sadly, not played enough but I did use it on a recording project recently.

I am sure Dan and the guys have something else in mind to fill that void. Maybe a JO with the DJ neck? Maybe a BG5 in a skyline? Maybe a who knows what?!?!?!

Either would fill MY "void".....we'll see...I know "new model develoipment" has been put on hold until the economy significantly improves......but this IS an "extraneous" circumstance.....we'll see when Dan puts his announcement together next week....

So....... am I to understand that if Darryl goes with another builder that Lakland CAN'T continue to build one of their best sellers?? That's insane! Can't they just rename it?

To be honest, I don't give a rat's @$$ who's name is on a bass' headstock or in it's name. And, I didn't even know who DJ was before the Lakland addiction.

All the tooling, jigs, etc for the DJ basses has to be garbaged? That's be just a CRIME IMO.

Could this happen w/ the Dunn, Glaub, Osborne??

Jody - dunno at this point....we'll have to wait and see what transpires next week...we at the LOG hope to be able to post the announcement first......

hopefully SOME form of J with a blocked neck will continue in the Skiline series....

as for the other guys....doubt it....they are much more "set in their ways" and - face it, are not "sought" after as much as they used to be....and I believe Dan is personal friends with them...all adds up to a "stay with Lakland" to me....

Interestingly, I will be in Oklahoma City later this week, but sadly will have a client with me and will be "tied' into the project for the entire time I will be there...will be tough to be sooooo close to a sweet Glaub and not be able to play t!!!!

I am sure that is in discussion....it all depends on what input DJ had or did not have.....and on what parts....

They can't, they don't own the rights to the design.

Most likely, they'll bring out a new streamlined Jazz bass.

Randy took all the pics at Lakland, and he doesn't really have Net access till he gets back home today. I'm sure they'll be posted quicker than the pics when you got your last couple new Lakies!
