Sounds good, Matt. Good grind on the tone. I really want to get an SVT of some sort. The Lakland sounds really good through it.

LOVE it dude!!!!

GREAT MATTY! those CHIs sure got a nice grunge to them in those songs!!!!

wow.....so which one is going on the LOG CD? (hee hee Hee!!!!)

Sweeeet! That bass sounds as great as I would expect. Nice going, Matty!

THANKS GUYS, theres nothing like the sound of chi's through an svt:D

Thinking of getting my first 5 String - narrowed it down to Peavey Cirrus US, US Fender Jazz V or a Lakland 5501 - what do you guys think of the model. Just looking for advice - played a friends Lakland 4 String (don't know the model) and it really nice, light and sounded great. Right now Lakland is the price performance leader of the bunch. Thanks!

The 01 series has a great feel to it, but the MK-1 electronics are mediocre. Shame, because at its price it's unparalleled in playability, but having to replace all the electronics for a good sound drives the price up equal to any other Lakland.

I am sure that is in discussion....it all depends on what input DJ had or did not have.....and on what parts....

So if they don't use those ideas should be okay. Sounds a little complicated and hope it doesn't get too legal.

I like the downsized body and the fretboard radius - could take or leave the curved control plate and the finishes. Seems they could do blocks and binding on a JO neck and body. Maybe? Or does that mess up the JO thing? Shouldn't since the necks are the same as the 55 series. Then do TTS/Black/Natural and please Oly White.

Another reason not to do a sig bass. Hope it works out.

if you followed my link, you'd see that Albey and Darryl brought the design to Lakland for production. They own the design.. without Darryl, there's no DJ Bass. I say keep the neck, do a different streamlined body, load it with chi-sonics. done.

It's a shame, the DJ is the ideal Jazz bass for me, I'd probably have to pick one up used anyway, but if I were to ever hit the lottery, I can't order my dream Jazz anymore!
