8250's are gonna be too short if my memory is correct, especially a 5 string.

extra long scale ghs boomers are the same as lakland nickels

MY Fender P5 came with 7250's on it. I know the P5 is only 34" but i think if i string through bridge they should fit.
The only downside is the E is tapered so im not going to bother just yet.

EDIT: Yes, the Fenders fit ok but im not going to use them. Tension seems a bit higher. at the moment i have XL's on and they feel fine but i think ill try the GHS strings.
Thanks for confirming about the GHS, think ill order some tomorrow.

I swear by [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. There are the only nickels that go on my Lakies. Unfortunately they aren't the easiest string to find sometimes. I use the Custom medium set that has a .135 B string.

I use MTD strings too (Steel and Nickel) but the .135 is too much for B for me. But it drops like a BOMB!

So I roll with the .130...

i just finished the first treatment of tung oil on my skyline glaub neck, and let me just say, what a HUGE difference already, after sanding off old satin finish,i applied multiple coats to let it absorb into the wood, and one final coat once it was done absorbing, im gonna let it dry over night and then buff and aplly one more coat, it already feels very close to the neck on my u.s laklands.

thanks to mr.matt for leading the way on this, its something ive wanted to try for a while, and am really glad i did.

my only suggestion is that, you find quality tung oil, ive been told that the tung oil that you buy at home depot is a mixture and does not contain a large amount of tung oil.

i bought mine from woodcraft and it's 100% pure tung oil.
