LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #27

Question for the experts ;)

Do you guys have any particular hard shell case you recommend that my DJ4 will fit in? I see Lakland has a HSC but I'm looking for something that may be a bit more form fitting and the Lakland case interior is wide open and looks like the bass would shift around inside.

I love the G&G cases but if you are looking for a fitted case, SKB makes some fitted cases (even the outside is kinda bass shaped) that they used to supply to Fender....I have 2 (1 "Fender" and 1 SKB) and they fit any of my Lakies nicely!

Tracking my Lakland - and according to UPS it is due here in a few days. Going to cash in my next Lakland Rookie question and ask what everyone's using for Strings?

First order of business will be a restring and setup. Thanks!

Primarily Lakland nickles....and some Lakland stainless steels....I like them both and see no need to change them out any time soon.....well...maybe! DR IS a LOG sponsor you know!

here is the new rig...

really nice and compact......kinda got me thinking....how much does each weigh? my Hartke is OK but weighs about 80 lbs...not too bad but I like the ability to expand from 1-2 speakers etc....

not that I can spend $$$$ now but...who knows.....

P.S. Only one bass sold due to the fact that there are two idiots in every selling operation, the one who sells and the one who buys. In my case, while pending payment, I was "glad" to find out the guy had been thinking thousands of roubles not thousands of dollars. He was planning to get a US 55-94 for roughly the equivalent of $100 (one hundred).

GLAD to hear it....I take it all back...you can stay...
$100!!??? wow!!!!! that would have been the deal of the century!

maybe YOU can find a "dumb seller" and try that.....make sure they have ALOT of vodka first!

whenver I get my p-bass, I think I'm going for nickel lo-riders... It's going to be weird for me to play a p-bass without flats. Fat beams are going on the active DJ and either SSLoRiders or High Beams on the passive fretted DJ.

With CallowHill closing up shop, I'm probably done. I was going to get a 5-string J from them, but I can't now. I should be set with basses now. I'm going to try hard with this. Though, I could use one more alder/rw bass... in 3-tone burst.

Callowhill closing up shop????? what did I miss???? that is not good news...I always hate to hear about a fellow small business owner going out of business.....wow...

I haven't weighed them yet, but the UPS boxes said the combo was 54 lbs for the entire package and the extension was 40 lbs for the entire package

It's rumor right now, but I think it's just the stress of the job. He's a one-man shop dealing with very demanding customers. Tim seems to really go out of his way for his customers and that can take a toll on your personal life and well-being after a while. I hope the rumor isn't true, but all the best to him either way.

so...the GOLD finally got to you huh????? I knew it would!!!
LOL. The bass itself is smokin', the color I'm just OK with.

The 12" combo is 50 lbs. I brought mine to the GTG at that church in January, I'm pretty sure you tried it. That sucker is gig-worthy even without the second cab!

i have a question, i noticed that some of you guys have CS basses. how exactly does Lakland's custom shop work? i love my Skyline JO4 and all, but i want to see if Lakland CS can come up with a Lakland that i can spend my nights dreaming about, lol.
