So the more I play Agent Orange and Radioactive Oatmeal (BG5 and JO5 respectively), the more I realize I'm really just a P bass guy at heart. PLEASE OH PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN IN A SKYLINE BEFORE I HAVE TO FIND A NEW PLACE TO LIVE......

I'll tell you the biggest problem w/ MUSE - Chris doesn't have a Lakland bass!
I only have their recent 2 records, but I have to give big props to Chris for his playing and use of effects. I love it.

To anybody with a Lakland with a block bridge, how did you get a black bridge? Did you blacken it yourself? I'm looking for options for my MusicMan Stingray bridge. All help appreciated.
Also, how does a MM/J configuration sound? I notice many of you have them and I'm considering doing that to one of my basses.

Hipshot offers black Lakland replacement bridges, tuners, etc.
As for MM/J.... for me, it's unbeatable.

that's a great project bro! If not for the killer deal from Leo (see below), I'd be going the same exact way. Only I was experimenting with the P-bass pickguard shape. But this one does it!
Why not PJ though? That pickguard has plenty of space

The burst one (Aaron? this was almost yours) is quite obviously a US 55-94. This bass has a story. The body was custom made in 1997 but the order was later cancelled, and it was coupled with neck only in 2001. Was very weathered when I got it:rust, discoloration, simple grease. It's a shame! Took me a while to clean her up! It had the barts/barts but I didn't dig it. Changed the pups for the '08 Laklands and like'em a lot. So this bass was in the works for over 10 years! So behold, this is the Оne And Only Standard Semi-Custom 55-94 Decade Plus!
The black one is Shoreline 55-94 Cl (Barts/Barts). I ordered a cream pearl pg from jeanies to liven it up, and love it. The sound is just too dark for me so it has to move. In fact, it will be picked tonight by a guy who's spending 22 hrs on a train to get her, spend several hours here and then 22 hrs back - just to get in time for a gig! Man, and Doug said I was wacky...! To make it a bit sweeter for the guy, I brought a few nice basses and combos to my house, a Smith, a Zon, an MM SR - we'll have some fun.
I just realized I never gave her a name, but I guess now it's not up to me...
So she leaves, but only to make place for This:

I believe this is the only such bass so far. The closest relative is John's Midas. Leo calls it a 55-Double Chi Sonic, I believe the usual Lakland model chart should make it a 55-62 CS or a 55-JJ CS... but who cares really!!! HELL TO THE YEAH BABY!!! Thanks guys, Doug, Markus, John, Leo, everybody!
And - she doesn't have a proper name yet. So welcome my friends!
And a few extras FYI
- the 2001 BEM 55 series board (does that count as an "earlier" BEM board?)

Yeah...that would be cool if he did play a Lakland.
Thanks Dude! I started with more traditional guards, which I think worked, but surprisingly I liked this one the most.

I like the two recent albums (especially the newest one), but Absolution and Origin of Symmetry are STELLAR (Showbiz is good as well, and is what turned me onto them).
Push the pup in against the foam backing and grab the screw head with channel locks, and twist it out. You'll be replacing the screws anyways. I've encountered similar issues on older basses, and this always worked for me.
