Ya see, if I had another set of Flat 5's, I would try to set up the Glaub like Kokol... 34" scale, 4 strings... might be what the doctor ordered. I always seem to get lost in the middle, one hand on the A and the other on the D... then switch. If that DID work, I would have no need for the 55-94 and could look for a US Glaub and call it a day...
...just thinkin out loud.....

ooooo...I can see the gears a turnin........but it sounds like JJ has first damn dibbs!!!

How would that 55-94 look in Ferg Gold????? just thinkin' out loud....

well looks like things are getting squared away with my new Lakie....just received my JO5 and (due to a manufacturing defect apparently) the truss rod was begun to creep out of the back of neck (breaking through the neck) at the headstock. It's due to oversanding at the factory. Got in contact with Kirk and they are standing behind their product and replacing the neck! The bass is '02, I'm the third owner, and they're still going to help me out! I couldn't believe it. I got to say, this kind of CS just doesn't happen anymore. I was actually expecting, and would have totally accepted, for them to say ",we'll sell you a new neck at a discounted price." I have had a very similar experience with another major bass manufacturer (who shall remain nameless, but the letters of the company might have a G and an L in it) a few years back regarding a wanky neck that was poorly manufactured. Their response was we'll "sell" you a new neck. Totally acceptable cause I bought it used and the warranty didn't transfer. No big. But Lakland definitely goes above and beyond with their product.

I had a similar issue. Bought a 55-02 second hand. Truss rod would vibrate inside the neck upon playing certain notes across the neck. Brian Gingrich replaced the neck for me and all I paid was shipping to Chicago....TOP NOTCH!!

Man! I've got 2 new sets of SL Chromes, but no DSed Glaub..... hmm.

Uh oh...he's looking for a US Glaub now. If he finds one perhaps the DS Glaub will need to be sold.
