LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #44

Just wanted to say that while in NYC for a few gigs, I had to use a rental bass. It was a 62 RI p-bass. Played solo, it sounded good. But wasn't gelling in the mix. Needless to say, I was having Lakland withdraws. Now I'm not one to blindly say that because it's not a Lakland it sucks (though you all would get a kick out of that). I like a variety of basses, Lakland is my favorite though. So, I'm just saying, it was tough. :crying:

On the brighter side, my Skyline Decade is en route to my house. It should arrive a day or two after I get home. I will return and report after I spend some time with it.

That's a bummer dude. Interested to see what you think about the Decade...killer with a pick!

So I'm actually (surprisingly) starting to get a little excited about the show we're doing with Papa Roach tomorrow, mainly due to some of the killer Lakies I was seeing on their site. Tobin has a bunch of them!
Cool! Hope the show goes well, and that you get to play the Lakiebird!

Me too....but WHAT do I buy? I doubloe j....go figa!

BUT I am going to "brainstorm" with Carl on Saturday.....she may stay a JJ....and then again......maybe not.....

as Greg said....ther has NEVER been an active single coil double single coil CHI bass....YET!:ninja:

AND - I am picking up an "old friend"....:hiding:
Man, you're going to have all kinds of fun Saturday. Hopefully, Carl can keep you from doing something too nutty.:rollno:

Weird. I like the reissues, but the early '80s Fullerton-era ones are better, IMO. (I have an 1983 '57 reissue which is sweet--darn near as good as the US Glaub I A/B'd it with a while back, just a different tone and feel.)

I hope you dig the Decade! I love the look of the Skylines, and the mahogany body makes'em punchy.

Denis!!!

support a friend....I want to put a MM guard on like this:

dougs-jj-mm-1.jpg

but no one but me seems to think it is a good idea....

and YES - those ARE stacked knobs....may "look like a sleeper" but may end up with Alot under the hood!

Doude,

as I said, I find the idea interesting. It is the body VS. pups VS. mm-shaped pickguard that doesn't match to my eye. It is a friendly support to say which looks better and which worse :)

Gotcha on the knobs! What do you have in your head? Hmm...V/B usually don't go together, so you either up to a V/V, mid, bass/treble config without a passive mode OR a 2-band pre possibly with an active/passive switch...

Now what is it?
