just found a used lakland locally, and it was the EXACT one I have been looking to add to the family for a while. I just got spousal permission too....lets hope he calls me back! WooHoo

Would that be a JO5?

You know, it's funny, I could SEE the reflections on the crowd, like a giant wonderful sounding discoball!

Do we need another "name Doug's bass" contest?
I'm the exact opposite. I'm not covering the Darkstar, and the cover on Mr. Pink does finish it off.

I have come to my senses...especially after a heart to heart talk with my luthier of choice (Carl Pedigo)....this bass (yet to be named) will get a "minor" faccelift (in stages)
1) painted headstock
2) P-styled minty pickguard
it will remain passive.....
you can all send out a sigh of relief now!!!! thanks for all of the input.
Still catching up with the thread... wow, out of town for two days and you guys are off to the races! Here's a quick pic someone sent me from the fill-in show Friday night opening for Papa Roach. Didn't talk to Tobin, but his seven Lakies were pretty darned awesome!

Right now i'm wondering if i should convert my JO4 into a fretless, because after getting my JO5 it gets less and less playing time. Any opinions on this? Who did it and regrets it?![]()
Practice has shown that restyling a P-styled pg to a -94/-02 series body is a tough task. Please show what you've got whenever ready

both basses look great!
Your JO4 looks great. I say, sell or trade for a fretless

Here's a bit more traditional looking version I threw together real quick... I think it definitely works.
