Right now i'm wondering if i should convert my JO4 into a fretless, because after getting my JO5 it gets less and less playing time. Any opinions on this? Who did it and regrets it?

Yeah I realise you wouldn't cover the DS, what I should've said was I liked the cover on the Monster better than it on Mr. Pink, but it's growing on me

I have come to my senses...especially after a heart to heart talk with my luthier of choice (Carl Pedigo)....this bass (yet to be named) will get a "minor" faccelift (in stages)
1) painted headstock
2) P-styled minty pickguard
it will remain passive.....
you can all send out a sigh of relief now!!!! thanks for all of the input.
Practice has shown that restyling a P-styled pg to a -94/-02 series body is a tough task. Please show what you've got whenever ready

both basses look great!
I was diverted from the idea of having a 4-string fretless and a 5-string fretted because of the scale difference (and there was a most beautiful 4-94 fretless out there that got me thinking). It may not be an issue with someone else though.
Your JO4 looks great. I say, sell or trade for a fretless
Shouldn't be too difficult I would think. The knobs on that bass (unlike typical -94's/-02's) are already in a p-like position. That would be the only major issue that I can see.

This was a quick one, bit it is easier when the bass is passive. The body on this one is a little distorted, but You get the idea.
I like it...the only thing I'd change, is make the upper curve in the back a little more gentle..like this. And make the part that comes down as the control plate a little thicker at first.
