This was a quick one, bit it is easier when the bass is passive. The body on this one is a little distorted, but You get the idea.

Here's a bit more traditional looking version I threw together real quick... I think it definitely works.

on a typical P, the lower horn balances the control plate. Here, the control plate looks too big
Good for a start, though

P.S. It feels as with this configuration the main curve is between top right and bottom left (which is different from a P but that's not the point). To make it just right you have to work on this curve, IMO, leaving the lower horn part as some rudimentary

my 2 [euro]cents

I like it...the only thing I'd change, is make the upper curve in the back a little more gentle..like this. And make the part that comes down as the control plate a little thicker at first.

yep, that's better. I am almost ready to admit it :hiding:
Now do something to the lower horn part. Lessen a bit ? fatten the beginning?

P.S. yeah, the last part is to erase the blocks and draw simple dots, he he he

Yeah, that looks better... I was sticking with the typical P-style thing, but the subtle wider curves work much better in this instance.

The lower horn thing doesn't bother me at all.

Just got off the Lakland site and it doesn't look like the 55-01 is offered in Cherry Burst anymore. What's up with that? Also, a question that just came up about my bass which is a 55-01. I l aways thought that the Deluxe versions equaled a Maple Fretboard, but according to another source they're referring to my bass as a deluxe because the top looks to be quilted maple even though the FB is Rosewood. Please enlighten me.
