feel no....sound...actually YES! the bass seems to have more "zing" than it did before and I am VERY happy about it....not sure what changed.....maybe Carl put a different LH3 in it? not sure.....maybe he has it set differntly.....not sure....but it sounded GREAT yesterday!

I could make it "zing" for some of the more modern sounding songs and make it "move alot of air" and thump for the mellow songs etc.....I think i need to experiment more with the knobs on this one!!!

Was regretting getting rid of Amber (well...WHEN John gets here to pick it up!) but after Sunday - well.....let's just say that it is a "little easier to let her go now...

Looks great Dougie, just like I knew it would.... any difference in sound or feel with the top on it?

NICE Randy!!!

any idea how many people you had lloking at your beautiful Lakies?

so - you got to see the rack of Lakies huh? was the Thuna-Lakie there?

Still catching up with the thread... wow, out of town for two days and you guys are off to the races! Here's a quick pic someone sent me from the fill-in show Friday night opening for Papa Roach. Didn't talk to Tobin, but his seven Lakies were pretty darned awesome!

The maple top would make the difference. More highs? More punchy?

oooooooo...did not think of that....no name decided yet!

(Donning nerd hat) - I am a fairly large Tolkein fan...

top 3 (so far):

Deep Blue
Blue Velvet
Glamdring

this bass DOES kick some serious Orcan @$$

JJ: Dorie is "cute"......maybe

(Donning nerd hat)

Glamdring. Gandalf's sword that glows blue when orcs (or balrogs) are present. Also translated as 'Foe-Hammer', cuz it kicks a lot of a$$!.

I think that is a good idea.....I would see if Lakland has any ebony fretless necks in stock......that way:

1) you don't do any damage to the nice rosewood (which I think defretting it would do)

2) you can always convert it back if you want to sell it or just want to go back....

another option would be to see i they have any of the maple fretless necks left.....

=KNURRR;9167791Right now i'm wondering if i should convert my JO4 into a fretless, because after getting my JO5 it gets less and less playing time. Any opinions on this? Who did it and regrets it? :)
