I like the more gentle upper curve idea...BUT I like the swoop at the bottom (where the knobs are) narrow all of the way....

Hey - at least you got me off the MM pick guard kick!

I really like this!! especially with a matching headstock!

I like it...the only thing I'd change, is make the upper curve in the back a little more gentle..like this. And make the part that comes down as the control plate a little thicker at first.

Yeh ....me too!

.....and to think.......we can get this type of talent just hanging around here!

I will see if Carl can do one like it...already e-mailed him...will see what he has to say.....

would have Roger do it but I would probably have to send him the bass and don't really want to do that....would rather take it down to Carl myself....have him work on the guard while the neck is out to Pat having the headtock painted.....darn it I am gettin excited now!!!!:hyper:

It's amazing how good this looks.

I think you guys may have stumbled onto something BIG here.

XX-01s have not been offered in quilt OR cherry burst for some time....

The "deluxe" refers to the quilted top......not the neck material.

Enjoy a rare beauty!!!

Just got off the Lakland site and it doesn't look like the 55-01 is offered in Cherry Burst anymore. What's up with that? Also, a question that just came up about my bass which is a 55-01. I l aways thought that the Deluxe versions equaled a Maple Fretboard, but according to another source they're referring to my bass as a deluxe because the top looks to be quilted maple even though the FB is Rosewood. Please enlighten me.

man - you are a bright one!

Carl said he MAY have to do a little sanding/routing in the cavity so they will not stick.....he said he would be gentle....

Hey Randy, did you get my PM?

And, YES I like the guard for Doude's teal bass... very NICE! But, question: Will the pot's posts be too short after extending thru the body wood AND a pickguard?

I guess not... cause it somehow worked on Gus' silver modded 55-01.

actually I do......now let me see where they are.....

ahhh....here we go!

He can always just gouge out around the hole on the top it with a screw driver or hammer and chisel. Maybe he has an old drill bit or some vice grips laying around... :hiding:

We are hoping for Oct/Nov at the latest...

the prototype is in Korea so the plant can get the dimensions off of it for the CNC machines etc....

John hopes to have the first one (one each) back in a few weeks to a month or so...after that 90-120 days until delivery!

Show us pics!!!

For all you LOG dudes.
Any word on when the LOG P-5 bass will be out?
Just got a new USA BG, and starting to gas for a 5er.

oooooooo...did not think of that....no name decided yet!

(Donning nerd hat) - I am a fairly large Tolkein fan...

top 3 (so far):

Deep Blue
Blue Velvet
Glamdring

this bass DOES kick some serious Orcan @$$

JJ: Dorie is "cute"......maybe
Glamdring?:eyebrow: Sorry, Gus, the only way that one works is if Doug starts playing at these. Invalid Link Removed

Blue Velvet gets my vote--great image, great movie!
