LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #45

I think that is a good idea.....I would see if Lakland has any ebony fretless necks in stock......that way:

1) you don't do any damage to the nice rosewood (which I think defretting it would do)

2) you can always convert it back if you want to sell it or just want to go back....

another option would be to see i they have any of the maple fretless necks left.....

woah woah woah... pump the brakes here... lakland has fretless MAPLE necks?!?

Well, hang on now--they had a one-time shipment of Skyline fretless maple necks, it was over a year ago (possibly two). I'm not sure how big it was (not very, I think), and I don't think anyone has inquired lately as to whether there are any left. But if you're interested, it can't hurt to contact Leo.

I am finally a Lakland owner!!! Here is my brand new Skyline Decade I picked up. I played her for a day and decided she needed flats. Not my "go to" yet...but she is getting there.

hey guys....NBD NBD NBD!!! HeeHee.....and met another great TBer and LOGer....Bassman7pm, thanks for a great bass and a great deal! Pics will be coming soon.

55-01D, Quilted Cherryburst, Rosewood. Here are the questions: FatStacks or Big Splits?????? Hmmmmm? Maybe an East U-Retro???

P.S. I just love it when my wife reads over my shoulder correcting my bass grammar. She did allow me to buy this one so she gets a free pass....THIS TIME!!!

The CHI'd one.....

LMAO...not:eyebrow:

PS: 'Deep Blue' = epic win.

Yeah baby...yeah!:D

Flats sound really good with DS's. So much so, I haven't been tempted to uses rounds with them yet.

I had flat on my last DS'd p bass...so I'm thinking that too. Rounds do sound good! But I think it's going to be flats.

;)

Try the Sea Monster first, but you have to do both. I'm running my DS'd Glaub with Sunbeams, but I want to try the HiBeams I have. And my Reverend PJ actually sounded best to my ears with flats--it tempered the nasal quality of the bridge pickup.

I was thinking that too about the PJ...hmm....

ChiSonics!

Why change it? The stock pre and pickups sound great. I respect the desire to mod, but why rip the guts out the minute you get the bass? Play it and see if you like how it sounds stock first.

Cool man! Great basses!

I'm digging it more and more. I didn't like it at first with the Lakland rounds, but as soon as I put my Fender flats on it...it came to life. Sweet tones through my Ampeg B-15N! I used it solo at church on Sunday and the leader said he loved the tone through my Walkabout. The neck on these is so nice...makes me want to sell my Yamahas and grab a Duck Dunn or DJ.

Nice! I like the Chis with either, but they do sound sweet with flats. And the Plek'd boards are so smooth...
