It's been a while since I've posted anything but my gear for sale but I FINALLY got a chance to snatch some photos of my 55-94

Since I sent it to Pat I've put a pickguard on it! I got it from roger (ofcourse) and I didnt have the worst experience ever as some had..

but this is her. My dream bass. I love the sound.. the playability and NOW the look....

LOVE it! congrats...nice refin!

Just got off the phone with JP....someone asked for lead times...current US lead times are 3+ months for "std" basses....custom orders might take slightly longer.
This is fantastic news! I don't think this should be overlooked. That's a short wait for a superb bass.

Thanks, talked to Leo, they shipped out a cream case for me yesterday, I'll get the US BG and the case tomorrow! I can't wait, come on, let it be tomorrow now...
Excellent! Glad Leo could hook you up.

Welcome back, Randy!

Maybe I should post this in the Chi-love topic, but I think I'd have better luck in this topic with the following question: could you please share some experience or opinions with me about the combination fretless and ChiSonics?

Since I like to build/assemble my basses myself, I've planned to build a fretless hollowbody with ChiSonics. I almost know for sure this will be a stunning combination and end up in a powerfull expressive fretless, but I would like to hear some opinions.

I've ordered a box full of Chi's from Bo, so I will be busy the coming months. :hyper: Have planned 3 CS-basses for myself and more for others.

Hey fellas...I want to run flats on my new Duck. Either LaBella Deep Talkers or D'Addario Chromes. Do I need extra long scale to go bridge-through?

Hmmm...I was about to pull the trigger at juststrings.com, then I read this:

La Bella Electric Bass Guitar Deep Talkin` Bass
Extra Long, .045 - .105, Stainless Steel Flat Wound, 760FS-EXL

Since the Fifties and Sixties, La Bella's DEEP TALKIN'BASS Flat Wound Stainless Steel strings have been the first choice by many professional bass players. These long-lasting flat wounds are recommended for fretless basses."

It all sounded good until I read:
Important note: La Bella flat wound strings are not suitable for use on instruments that require through-body stringing. :rollno:

Has anybody had different experience?

I don't think there are any flat wounds that are recommended to be strung through the body.

Having said that, I always run D'addario Chromes through the body.

Never had any problems...
