bump for my finally getting past my slight dislike of the look of 55-02s and finally listening to the clips on laklands website, these things sound AMAZING!! perfect tone with flats, much better than my geddy im starting to dislike...

yup! sound is awesome! and much more variable than a J bass.....so - which color are you going to get? he he!!

I also like the pictures in the back ground! (off topic...are those real prints or posters? I love WW II aviation art but need to keep my funding going to lakies so my collection is small and mostly cheap reproductions....with nice frames!)

Hence, with the exception of a couple small avatars, my Lakands have never been posted. The exception being, Markus, who provided great assistance in helping me select the pearl guards. Antique white on the burgundy and bright white on the Dunn. The JO is mint green. They all sport jazz necks. Forgive the lighting, I'll do better next time.

Greetings from Germany - I'm here for a year studying. Tis chaos and beurocracy beyond imagining....
But....
Sadly...
This means I'm separated from my beloved Lakland! Aaaargh! It's only been two weeks and I really really miss my Darryl Jones!
Still, it's sleeping nice and cosy in a Hiscox Liteflite case at home. Can't recommend those cases enough, btw - they weigh a ton with the DJ, but I jumped up and down on mine to test it and nothing happened.

I do have a bass with me, btw - it's a Westfield acoustic. It's....meh. Nice sound but the intonation's all over the place and it's dead quiet - really really needs a big ol' amp to get going. Nice neck though.

Anyhoo, just felt I needed to offload some pain with a sympathetic audience...

I WANT MY LAKLAND BACK!

Today I decided it was time to upgrade my Decade. It sounded a bit thin, and could use some more warmth in the tone.

I replaced all the stock electonics with CTS pots (500 K for V and 300K for T) and an Orange Drop cap. Additional, I installed a push-pull pot for parallel/series, a winner!

In parallel the bass sounds warmer and the complex mids bloom more beautiful when you dig in.
Switching to series turnes this bass in a monster. Big howling mids with good definition! Almost more than my Tractor-bass.

I wound recommend this upgrade to anyone with a Lakie (Skyline) with ChiSonics!

well right now i think the only way i could get one was if someone wanted to straight up trade for my geddy and a squire bronco, or the geddy+$100

and definitely natural/rosewood for the color! if i ever manage to get one, that'll be it.

Those are limited edition signed prints.....I have many more in other rooms and several never framed. Most have many veteran signatures and usually represent airplanes I fly myself for fun. I'm privileged to have the right background, and to have been in the right place at the right time. I regularly fly a B-17 (I have over a 1000 hrs. in Liberty Belle), a PBY, and a B-25 and used to operate those airframes too numerous to list here.
This is the reason I don't gig any longer, but try to average an hour a day practice with a bass.

Thats interesting.....and you have a Tractor? As in Oakley? Pretty cool.
When I ordered my Lull T-bass (delivery next month I hope) I requested the standard VVT, be wired Master V, Blend, and Tonestyler. So, I sent a Stellartone and blend/pan pot to Mike for installation. This way I can adjust volume and not effect tone. The blend pot has a center detent (zero resistance) and is both pups, and then I'll be able to roll either neck or bridge fully CW or CCW with zero resistance at either limit, not affecting tone.

ahhh...Natty and RW....I have one just like it (well..I DID...unitl I made it into an ebny neck'd fretless!)

save your pennies and dimes.....sell the Geddy when you have enough to make up the "extra" and you will be VERY pleasantly surprised!!!

Interesting ... not what I'd expect from a blend pot. Where did you get it ?

The Pan Pot was found and obtained from Stellartone. I wasn't aware they had them, until I started discussing my plan when ordering the Tonestyler and needed some information. It was explained they had tested numerous pan pots and the CGE provided zero resistance at the center detent, full CW, and CCW.
