This arrived from BC. Been waiting a long time for today, and very, very satisfied thus far. Been playing wannabe basses for too long. Probably won't be my last Lakland either. I understand the way things go.

Step 3: buy fretless Lakland (you know, you need one of those)

Step 5: endlessly debate TBers on tone
Step 6: buy chi-sonics for the family
Step 7: buy new pickguards for the family
Step 8: take out 2nd mortgage to buy Duck Dunn, Bob Glaub, Hollowbody, and 55-94
Step 9: that Decade is getting rare, better get me one of those

Neos. To my ears, the Neos have more punch, and more top, but I can get the old school vibe by dimming the tone knob. Yes...Neos have black and red plastic covered wires.

How do they stand up against other P pickups eg Fender American Standard etc etc?

Just curious. Im pretty tempted but Im not sure I need any more aggression!

Just curious. Im pretty tempted but Im not sure I need any more aggression!

Haven't played a Fender P for a while, but they are more defined then my Nordy pickup'd P bass.

Thanks, I use to think all I would play is 35" scale, then I got an old TRB6P and love it. IMO it's all how you adjust your strap..lol

Those SD BLs must give a serious bark! I'd love to hear that. What's the pre?
The pole pieces on the outer strings seem to be offline a bit, is this the original SD BL set they installed on the 55-94s?

my Lak-life actually started with #10. My car was wrecked in a crash so I bought my first Lakie for the money I got for it.
I used to be car-less, but never Lakie-less!

Wow... I had no idea there was a new thread going on over here. Thought that last one would never end. Haven't been on over here too much, was surprised to see this one at page 6 already.

Interesting update on Dan. The first guitar I had was a Harmony back in the mid-'80's. Not sure what year it was. It was a hand-me-down through a few other people before me (everybody's first guitar... think I passed it to someone else). Man, that thing was a piece of cr@p. Guessing the quality will be quite a bit better if Dan's going to be involved.
