JazznFunk said:Hey friends. I have a 55-01 fretless that I've owned for 3 years or so now. It was made in 2003, so it's one of the first-generation Skylines. I love the bass and the tone is phenomenal, but one nagging issue I've had from day one is that the output of the bass is a good bit lower than the output from my other 55-01 and my 44-01's. The battery is brand new in the bass, and there's no other noticeable issue that I can see or hear. Does anyone else have any possible explanation as to what could cause the overall lower volume output? Could the age of the pickups and pre be causing any issue? Like I said, I've had the bass for a while and the issue isn't a big deal, but I've thought about having it looked into and fixed if it seems like something easy to correct.

Pickup height?
Can I buy one directly from Lakland?
THE FIRST PERSON WHO GETS ONE HAS TO START A LOG BASS THREAD HERE ON TB!
Been searching, getting tired of it, so I will post this question to the owners group here:
I have a 2007 dj skyline on the way and am trying to find out if the body is routed under the pick guard, or if it is solid?
I always liked jazz basses without pick guards. I also plan on having a white pearloid guard made and will need to send in the current one to copy, so it'd be nice if it wasn't needed in the interim.
thanks!
No biggie though - just need to retighten the screw.
