Niiiiiice snag, Aaron! I tried the prototype and was really impressed with it, especially using my JO and JOCS!

Diggin' the new graphics, too--good job, Markus!

HELP NEEDED

I'm pumped to be rejoining the Lakland group very soon! However, I have a little dilemma... The new 55-02D I just won on eBay is completely assembled with the exception of the electronics. No pickups, no preamp, no knobs. I got a great deal so I figured it'd be worth it even if I have to order the LH3 system direct from Lakland.

I'm just looking for suggestions of what other pickup/preamp combos you guys have tried with positive results. My last one had the LH3 system, which was killer, but I know there are so many other options. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

jeeez, Markus! what'd ya do to it, bro? looks very teen-ish. I thought you'd use black and chrome - to match my Nessie in the first place :D


...I'm getting the pedal either way because I know what it IS. Only it will be harder to be arrogant, 'cause everyone will be like: "huh? THE ultimate preamp? hi-end thing? you gotta be nuts, mon..." :D


BTW, where'd all the jazz-bassy knobs go?

Thanks! Those are just printed on my inkjet, using avery labels with are matte. The production version will be much better.

He he he! Read above. Carl wanted a rough look for the graphics so I went with the cold war Russia look...red and all. The knobs were the ones it came with.

Ah, I saw that one on the 'bay--nice deal! I'm no expert on active basses, but if you love the LH3, I wouldn't fix what ain't broke.:)

Now the tone...
Super thick, clear, and juicy highs. Big punch you in the gut lows, and jab and uppercut mids. The mids have more texture then my Glaubs. They hit you a little higher in the frequency range. If the Glaub's tone is a big wrestler, the 44-51's tone is an Ultimate Fighter, if that makes sense. Sharper cutting tone..that sits a little higher. Totally lovin' it!

Awesome - I saw that same one myself! Congrats - mine is also rosewood with the quilted maple top.

I've been looking to try something besides the Barts myself. So far I've whittled it down to either Nordstrand, Delano, or Seymour Duncan with a Glock preamp.

Ohhhh wait, maybe Joe Barden too... hmmmm. Maybe I don't have this whittled down after all. :help:
