He he he! Hollowbody traded for BG 5 #1...which was later sold. I miss the HB!:-( Gold Decade body traded to JJ for Rootbeer. Always wanted a brown bass!

Hey Guys,

Anyone out there have seen any reviews of the Skyline 44-60 or 55-60 (Vintage J)?

I've got a DJ4, and looking for either a 4 or 5 but really hadn't seen much in the way of reviews out on the web..

Used to have a DJ5 which was nice, but not exactly my cup of tea, also needed to fund another project. I seriously dig my DJ4 pictured, but am looking for either a rosewood 4, or perhaps a Maple board 5...

I had a deal fall thru on one of those other brand (upper priced) jazz basses. And now I'm punting back to something more reasonably priced.

The plecked option sounds to be good on the new basses too.

Alright Markus... I must know you're opinions/observations/comparisons of the DS and the '51 (Hanson single coil P). Of course, we all know that Sea Monster is handicapped w/ that yucky RW board and what RW does to a bass' tone.

He he he! So far...they sound totally different. DS...super round....a little more open. The '51 has more of a mid bark with some compression. Both sound killer!

I'd say you can't go wrong with a 44-60, but you want another J bass? I'd say go with a 44-64!

Have you tried searching for Skyline Joe Osborn Reviews? As they haven't been called xx-60s for very long. Also, when reading reviews remember that the production of Skylines moved from Korea to Indonesia a few years ago (Almost all Indo-Skylines are Plek'd, which from what I've heard is excellent, as well as older xx/60s have Fralins and the newer ones having Hanson pups), both these changes happened around 2007 I think, and it's just another thing to be aware of.

Hey guys, some of you may have seen this in the classified section for trade....well, I've come to my senses and have decided to keep my black beauty. More than anything, my gut was telling me not to let it go, my wife was telling me not to let it go, and my good friend Chop (who has one of the first Laklands ever made) told me that I would be an idiot to let it go....SO I've spent the entire day holding her in my arms....

For those of you that don't know the story of this bass....This is a 2009 USA Duck Dunn (serial number is under 20) that I got from Dan. It was one his personal favorites...and was special order. It has abalone blocks in the neck. The neck is thin and very narrow. The nut width is 1 7/16". The pics don't do the bass justice, it's not your typical gloss black...it's like a 'grand piano' finish....so I'm glad I came to my senses and decided to keep it.

I know....but I've gotta listen to my gut on this one. There are a lot of instruments I've let go of in the past that I truly regret....and I don't want this to be one of them.

I was going to trade it off because I really am into wide 1 3/4 necks like my 68 Tele bass and my 51 precision...and when I got the black beauty, I truly thought the narrow neck would be easier for me to play. I can't afford to purchase an abalone blocked 1 3/4 P style Lakie neck straight from Lakland...it's just out of my league especially with a little one coming....but I wouldn't mind or regret swapping necks (for a blocked 1 3/4 Glaub neck), which by the time I contacted Dan, he'd left, and J.P. didn't seem too interested in doing.

I'm happy with what I have. Would I like a wider neck? YES. Is the neck on this bass gonna make my hand fall off? NO.

way cool! welcome to the LOG!!!

do you do original stuff? you may or may not know, we put out a 2010 LOG CD and want to do another for 2012...we need 10-12 cuts total so keep us in mind!!!!
